[10:54:36] <hazzy-m> morning
[10:55:00] <hazzy-m> in the low 50s here, first touch of fall
[11:24:33] <jesseg> Mornin' hazzy-m
[11:25:19] <hazzy-m> hey jesseg, long time no see
[11:26:32] <jesseg> yeah just been busy with life :D
[11:27:01] <jesseg> I did get that mill put back together with $1160 worth of new parts in it :P (All new bearings in head except not the spindle bearings)
[11:27:38] <jesseg> plus a new pinions shaft, new unlaoder clutch, etc
[11:28:10] <jesseg> and if you recall me moaning about a certain spindle shiv pulley hub shaft be too short? I ordered a new one and it was longer lol
[11:29:39] <jesseg> it's much quieter now. I think the spline is what's essentially making noise now
[11:29:49] <jesseg> before every bearing in the head was singing a song of doom
[11:32:06] <hazzy-m> Oh, I do remember that shaft, it just barely engaged in the bearing bore. You'd think somebody would have noticed during assembly, lol
[11:34:04] <hazzy-m> Great, so it sounds like you are back in business, for a lot less than a new head or a rebuild
[11:37:52] <jesseg> I still need to adjust the unloader clutch
[11:38:05] <robotustra> "busy with life" (c)
[11:38:14] <jesseg> which I guess I do by putting a bathroom scale and a metal plate under the quill right? LOL
[11:41:06] <jesseg> I also bent my X-axis DRO rod (it's round rod magnetic type slide sensor) in the process in the dumbest ever way... I lowered down the knee with my collet tray supporting the dro rod
[11:41:10] <jesseg> how's that for dumb
[11:42:29] <jesseg> Newall Spherosyn, that's what's on there.. (was lol)
[11:42:47] <jesseg> I took out the rod so I could use the mill, going to try to straighten it.
[11:45:33] <jesseg> oh hey guys I was thinking of using that moly-graph grease for my back gear
[11:45:46] <jesseg> is that suitable?
[11:45:53] -!- robotustra has parted #hazzy
[11:46:14] <jesseg> I already put it on my high/low speed shifter mechanism :P
[11:52:38] <Roguish> hazzy-m: how ya doing? raining and windy again?
[11:53:00] <Roguish> how's Lcvette?
[12:34:05] <hazzy-m> sorry, was away
[12:35:37] <hazzy-m> shame about the Newall, but those things are tough, i bet you can straighten it out, and the beauty of the design is even it you stretch it straightening it it will still be accurate!
[12:37:23] <hazzy-m> There was a foundry that kept toppling their knee mills with heavy castings, and the newell were the only dros that survived multiple topples (according to the newall add at least, LOL)
[12:39:24] <hazzy-m> jesseg: I think the moly-graph grease would be fine, that is what BP seemed to use from the factory after they switched to grease from oil. H&W likes the superlube synthetic for the backgear, but I'm not so keen on it
[12:41:08] <jesseg> cool
[12:41:11] <hazzy-m> Roguish: doing fine, the storm did not really have any effect on us here, kinda anticlimactic
[12:41:33] <hazzy-m> I think Lcvette got hit much harder then we were, agian :(
[12:52:06] <jesseg> LOL... why is one tube of moly graph $93 while the other one is $12? https://www.ebay.com https://www.ebay.com
[13:14:24] <hazzy-m> LOL
[13:44:41] <jesseg> and my local auto parts store (which is usually about twice the cost of online) has it for like $7

[16:48:02] <hazzy-m> It's nice when things work out that way :)
[16:48:06] <hazzy-m> More better docs: https://qtpyvcp.kcjengr.com
[16:49:43] <hazzy-m> jthornton: Does your expert eye approve? (its just a start, but got to start somewhere :D)
[16:54:28] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson created branch 03master
[16:54:41] <hazzy-m> new docs merged to master and the build passes, Hurray!
[17:00:14] <hazzy-m> LOL, wonder who this guy is: https://github.com
[17:51:13] <jthornton> hazzy-m: getting there, I'll have to try and follow along this weekend
[17:51:55] <jthornton> I've about got my damn chicken door code working like I want...

[19:48:28] <Lcvette> Hurray!!!
[20:08:20] <Lcvette> I don't listen to rap music, but I'm gonna buy some Kanye West music
[20:25:41] <hazzy-m> LOL
[20:34:05] <hazzy-m> I've never listened to him, but he seems like a funny dude
[20:34:26] <Lcvette> He needs some support
[20:34:32] <hazzy-m> I cracked up when he hugged trump
[20:34:44] <Lcvette> Yeah
[20:36:16] <Lcvette> That was an awesome sit down. Compared to everyone else of a celebrity status, he at least had some content to his statements
[20:36:59] <Lcvette> He didn't maybe convey it like a seasoned attorney, but it was clear enough to understand his train of thought
[20:37:50] <hazzy-m> yes, he is not scared about saying what he believes
[20:41:17] <Lcvette> Love it!
[20:52:58] <hazzy-m> I hadn't watched but a few minutes of the meeding, just watched a little more. I like him better and better!
[21:17:29] <Lcvette> Hahaha... Yeah me too
