[10:13:36] <hazzy> morning
[11:11:49] <Lcvette> morning
[11:26:00] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson pushed 037 commits to 03master [+14/-0/±18] 13https://gitlab.com/Hazzy/qtpyvcp/compare/11fb144bdb32f0dea98b721f7420a4759dc95aa5...396d7942a4b6a8c13e642116bba829c56e24881a
[11:26:01] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 03d5a0f5b - designer: add support for custom task menu extensions for editing widgets
[11:26:03] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 038b58ad8 - actually use the specified task menu name and callback
[11:26:04] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 0305e85e0 - add widget rules editor
[11:26:06] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] ... and 4 more commits.
[11:27:33] <Lcvette> more fund things
[11:27:35] <Lcvette> fun
[11:27:52] <Lcvette> what we got here?
[11:28:51] <hazzy-m> more fancy widget editing in designer!
[11:30:17] <Lcvette> nice
[11:34:31] -!- Roguish_desk has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
[11:39:42] <Lcvette> im getting close to being to a point of decision good buddy
[11:41:54] <hazzy-m> decision about what?
[11:41:57] <Lcvette> i had hoped to have the big machine finished and ready to make my next large batch of production parts by now in house. but the parts i planned on making are now dwindling to the point of needing to reorder if not.. do you have any kind of time line for me to work with yet?
[11:43:15] <Lcvette> outsourced parts take about 4-6 weeks
[11:46:14] -!- Roguish_desk has joined #hazzy
[11:48:12] <hazzy-m> I have had a lot of other things to work on, so progress will probably be a little slower, and I'd think we'd want to have at least a few weeks to shake it down in a non production enviroment once we think it is to a point it can be used.
[11:48:31] <Lcvette> ok
[11:48:35] <Lcvette> i will outsource
[11:48:39] <hazzy-m> So I would suggest you get your machine up and running with LinuxCNC master and gmoccapy for now, and make the parts in house. It won't be as nice as ProbeBasic, but many many people are using it
[11:49:47] <hazzy-m> Your machine is ready to run, right?
[11:50:05] <Lcvette> without probing its useless
[11:51:17] <hazzy-m> well if you finish the probing routines you can use them in gmoccapy
[11:52:24] <hazzy-m> or even axis
[11:52:57] <Lcvette> using gmoccapy i have already crashed the machine twice
[11:53:02] <Lcvette> its too clumsy
[11:53:20] <hazzy-m> The ProbeBasic sub routine format is the same as the NGCGUI format, so you will even get the input boxes in axis
[11:53:27] <hazzy-m> ok
[11:54:12] <Lcvette> i just don't trust it (or myself) to remember everything i have to remember to use it
[11:54:36] <Lcvette> which is 90% of the issue, the probing would also be the same
[12:00:07] <Lcvette> for instance if i type in the wrong code strong while loading a tool its a crash
[12:00:17] <Lcvette> lol
[12:00:38] <Lcvette> and thats not a hard thing for me to do
[12:00:45] <hazzy-m> yeah, which is VERY easy to do!
[12:00:45] <Lcvette> lol
[12:01:09] <hazzy-m> Ok, i am working as fast as I can here :)
[12:01:22] <Lcvette> its safer for me to outsource and wait
[12:01:27] <Lcvette> lol
[12:01:38] <Lcvette> and likely far less expensive in the long run
[12:02:50] <Lcvette> i know you are, i see all the commits, i was just asking because i was at a decision making time crossroad
[12:03:06] <hazzy-m> yes, I think that is best thing, and then you will have some time to get used to the machine, rather than feeling rushed to get parts cranked out
[12:03:20] <hazzy-m> (servoed out*)
[12:03:21] <hazzy-m> LOL
[12:05:50] <Lcvette> i wish i had your scope view of the project
[12:06:59] <hazzy-m> no you don't, its a big tangled mess :D
[12:07:17] <Lcvette> i do
[12:07:44] <Lcvette> project management is a very very strong skillset of mine
[12:09:14] <Lcvette> as it stands, without it, there are no updates to the linuxcnc thread
[12:09:29] <Lcvette> no one knows where the status of the project is
[12:09:38] <Lcvette> no one knows whats left or what is needed
[12:09:49] <Lcvette> no one knows how or if they can offer help
[12:10:05] <Lcvette> and in turn EVERYTHING falls on your shoulders
[12:10:57] <Lcvette> the team became a team of 1
[12:12:49] <hazzy-m> yes, that is a big problem. Mentaly comunicating is more work for me than just doing the work, so I gravitate to that, but that is by no means ideal
[12:13:42] <Lcvette> small secret, everyone feels that way
[12:13:47] <Lcvette> lol
[12:14:01] <Lcvette> nobody likes the "organizational work"
[12:14:59] <Lcvette> but the truth is that succesful projects always have a clearly defined scope, this doesn't mean its rigid or can't change due to issues that pop up or changes that need to be made but it does need to exist.
[12:15:55] <Lcvette> it forms the workflow process, defines goal lines, helps focus multiple team members on required tasks to be completed
[12:16:31] <Lcvette> the effort input into the project scope pays for itself in spades when adhered too
[12:17:40] <Lcvette> it also helps to include qualified people joining the team
[13:23:01] <TurBoss> Hello
[13:23:50] <TurBoss> Lot of discussion here
[13:24:15] <TurBoss> Mesa card crossed the border
[14:10:26] <jthornton> did it get caught?
[14:17:02] <TurBoss> yes
[15:23:12] * hazzy-m is back
[15:23:42] <hazzy-m> QtPyVCP is finally leaving up to its name!!!
[15:23:54] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: Screenshot_2018-10-16_15-22-30.png (349KB) < https://matrix.org >
[15:27:51] <hazzy-m> That is running on PySIde2 and QT5.11.2 both installed using PIP!
[15:28:52] <hazzy-m> So QtPyVCP should now be able to run usning PyQt5, PyQt4, PySide2 or PySide!
[15:28:59] <hazzy-m> Pretty neat, eh?
[16:02:07] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson created branch 03QtPy
[16:02:28] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson created branch 03QtPy
[16:03:03] <hazzy-m> the bot is drunk again
[16:47:21] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson pushed 032 commits to 03QtPy [+0/-0/±6] 13https://gitlab.com/Hazzy/qtpyvcp/compare/6fdf18b8c3d31eec2a1c4a8436e0fb167324fc8d...6b1bb0dce0302730ef9bb27f1d985b03aff85bda
[16:47:22] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 035e20357 - change some missed PyQt5 imports to qtpy
[16:47:24] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 036b1bb0d - only import Q_ENUMS if in QtDesigner
[16:58:22] <TurBoss> wow
[17:01:09] <hazzy-m> Once QtPy v1.5.2 is released the GcodeBackplot will work out of the box with PySide2 installed from pip
[17:01:17] <hazzy-m> https://github.com
[17:02:19] <hazzy-m> PySide2 includes all the Qt dependancies, so no need to build and install Qt seperatly, and it is the latest version of Qt
[17:02:50] <hazzy-m> So I think it will be good to support PySide in addition to PyQt
[17:26:48] <TurBoss> good
[21:29:09] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson pushed 034 commits to 03QtPy [+0/-0/±7] 13https://gitlab.com/Hazzy/qtpyvcp/compare/6b1bb0dce0302730ef9bb27f1d985b03aff85bda...8f3adbd9e59b390a623cd8620f47d1619841b722
[21:29:10] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 03c14b97e - fix more missed imports
[21:29:12] <Not-5695> [02QtPyVCP] 07Kurt Jacobson 03ec9cd6f - fix `QTimer can only be started by QThread` when using PySide2
