[01:20:42] <hazzy-m> are you gonna do linear rails?
[01:20:46] <Lcvette> no
[01:20:50] <Lcvette> not right now
[01:21:00] <Lcvette> im jammed up bad needing turned parts
[01:21:17] <hazzy-m> how is the rino?
[01:21:23] <hazzy-m> got it running?
[01:21:28] <Lcvette> im literally throwing this thing together as fast as possible
[01:21:34] <Lcvette> no
[01:21:36] <Lcvette> not even close
[01:21:42] <Lcvette> need the big mi9ll for it
[01:21:43] <hazzy-m> :(
[01:21:54] <hazzy-m> and you need PB for that
[01:21:54] <hazzy-m> LOL
[01:21:58] <Lcvette> yup
[01:22:11] <Lcvette> thats the bed behind the red lathe on my granite surface plate
[01:22:13] <hazzy-m> so what you are saying is that I am the hold up
[01:22:15] <hazzy-m> xD
[01:22:22] <Lcvette> needs to be surfaced
[01:22:32] <Lcvette> your words
[01:22:35] <Lcvette> lol
[01:22:39] <Lcvette> :D
[01:23:05] <hazzy-m> is the big mill big enough to surface that?
[01:23:10] <Lcvette> yeah
[01:23:14] <Lcvette> 30"
[01:23:22] <Lcvette> 30x16
[01:23:47] <Lcvette> the bed is 30" exactly
[01:23:49] <hazzy-m> oh yeah, that is nice sized!
[01:23:58] <Lcvette> it will be
[01:24:15] <Lcvette> right now its a big box taking up space in the middle of the shop
[01:24:16] <Lcvette> hahaha
[01:24:26] <Lcvette> with all those pretty tools setup and ready for it
[01:24:28] <Lcvette> :D
[01:24:43] <Lcvette> probe
[01:25:14] <hazzy-m> big box sitting there rusting :(
[01:25:22] <Lcvette> it is
[01:25:22] <hazzy-m> not good
[01:25:32] <hazzy-m> but I'm trying my best!
[01:25:37] <Lcvette> i had to remove the surface rust from the table the other day
[01:25:41] <Lcvette> made my stomach turn
[01:25:43] <Lcvette> :(
[01:25:53] <hazzy-m> ouch, that would
[01:26:19] <hazzy-m> a little evaporust on a spounge will work wonders
[01:26:22] <Lcvette> luckily it came off with just rags and wd40
[01:26:30] <hazzy-m> great!
[01:26:37] <Lcvette> it was covered up
[01:26:42] <Lcvette> and the garage is conditioned
[01:26:52] <Lcvette> suprised it rusted at all
[01:27:04] <Lcvette> i even put a light coat of oil on it before i covered it
[01:28:05] <Lcvette> evaporust does work good, but i only use it if i have too, it tend to take the shine off of finely finished surfaces
[01:28:12] <Lcvette> turns them a dull grey
[01:28:27] <hazzy-m> yes it does
[01:29:11] <hazzy-m> I soaked an entire BP in evaporust, including the column, LOL
[01:29:26] <Lcvette> how did you manage that?
[01:29:46] <Lcvette> 55 gallon barrel?
[01:30:21] <hazzy-m> I build a wood fram with masonite that the colum would just fit in and lined with plastic sheeting, and then poured the ER in
[01:30:29] <hazzy-m> it works really well
[01:30:43] <Lcvette> wow
[01:30:53] <hazzy-m> saved a machine that really should not have been worth saving
[01:30:58] <hazzy-m> but it was a lot of fun
[01:30:59] <Lcvette> lol
[01:31:08] <Lcvette> still have it?
[01:31:17] <hazzy-m> yeah
[01:31:21] <Lcvette> nice
[01:31:38] <hazzy-m> I guess I have not shown you pics
[01:31:58] <Lcvette> i had bought a bridgport for $200 from my local salvage metal facility, but it stayed there for a year because i never went to pick it up
[01:32:16] <Lcvette> i ended up just taking a facility credit for it instead
[01:32:27] <Lcvette> it had sat outside and was completely rusted
[01:32:36] <Lcvette> no haven't seen pics
[01:32:39] <Lcvette> share dude!
[01:32:54] <hazzy-m> this one needs some work ...
[01:33:05] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (1674KB) < https://matrix.org >
[01:33:17] <hazzy-m> been sitting for afew years not, but I havn't had time :(
[01:34:04] <Lcvette> i can't even make heads or tails of it
[01:34:09] <hazzy-m> OSHA ....
[01:34:09] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (1016KB) < https://matrix.org >
[01:34:09] <Lcvette> atc on the right?
[01:34:11] <hazzy-m> LOL
[01:35:19] <hazzy-m> yeah, that ATC is shot, rusted beyond repair, but rest of the machine is good
[01:35:27] <Lcvette> ER it
[01:35:29] <Lcvette> :D
[01:35:33] <hazzy-m> the used a corosive coolant
[01:35:54] <hazzy-m> trying to find the PB pics, must be on the other HDD
[01:36:14] <Lcvette> that fork lift work looks a bit suspect
[01:36:16] <Lcvette> :O
[01:36:53] <Lcvette> looks like they are crushing something
[01:37:38] <hazzy-m> I can't believe nobody got killed, lifting a 10,000blm machine with 2 4000 cap lifts
[01:37:49] <Lcvette> geeeeezus
[01:37:53] <Lcvette> that wasn't too bright
[01:38:02] <Lcvette> did they damage it?
[01:38:07] <Lcvette> looks like it
[01:38:08] <hazzy-m> they said, "yeah, we can load it for you"
[01:38:29] <hazzy-m> they rolled it, head over heals
[01:38:46] <Lcvette> flipped it?
[01:38:48] <Lcvette> :O
[01:38:51] <hazzy-m> yep
[01:38:58] <hazzy-m> it was not pretty
[01:39:00] <Lcvette> break it?
[01:39:13] <hazzy-m> but it ended up beeing free because of that
[01:39:15] <Lcvette> can't iomagine it survived that kinf of tumble
[01:39:53] <Lcvette> free is all i would have paid after that...lol
[01:39:54] <hazzy-m> thankfully the full enclose took almost all the beating
[01:40:03] <Lcvette> nice
[01:40:14] <Lcvette> castings did get cracked is a testament
[01:40:20] <Lcvette> didn't*
[01:40:47] <hazzy-m> that thing is built like a tank, the enclosue was 3/16 steel sheet all bent and welded
[01:41:04] <hazzy-m> ended up scrapping it out
[01:41:46] <Lcvette> thats some thick ass metal for an enclosure
[01:41:48] <Lcvette> holy crap
[01:41:54] <hazzy-m> its a moving column, so the table is stationary, plan it to use it for large weldments, so the enclosure would be in the way anyways
[01:42:00] <Lcvette> need an iron worker to bend that kind of metal
[01:42:16] <Lcvette> nice
[01:42:22] <Lcvette> for making other machines?
[01:43:04] <hazzy-m> yes, and other toys :)
[01:43:11] <Lcvette> nice!
[01:43:25] <Lcvette> i ordered a pallet of castinite
[01:43:39] <Lcvette> epoxy granite
[01:43:42] <Lcvette> premixed
[01:43:45] <hazzy-m> Nice!!
[01:44:02] <Lcvette> just stir in the hardener into the 5 gallong buckets mix and pour
[01:44:24] <Lcvette> 20 gallons per pallet
[01:44:44] <Lcvette> $330/pallet +freight
[01:45:11] <hazzy-m> that is not bad at all
[01:45:32] <Lcvette> for not havging to source everything and measure and test, yeah it is worth it in my book
[01:45:47] <Lcvette> proven and used in machine professional machine bases
[01:46:07] <hazzy-m> well it is probablu close to $200 in epoxy alone
[01:46:18] <hazzy-m> if you rolled your own
[01:46:37] <Lcvette> actually the mix is not much epoxy if you do it right from the research i did
[01:47:06] <Lcvette> i think its only like 8% by volume or weight or something
[01:47:16] <hazzy-m> ah, ok. So you have a good mix of fine grains to fill in the gaps?
[01:47:20] <hazzy-m> wow
[01:47:29] <Lcvette> its premixed
[01:48:03] <Lcvette> each bucket is perfectly mixed and the epoxy is already mixed in, you just mix in the hardener and pour
[01:48:06] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (482KB) < https://matrix.org >
[01:48:22] <Lcvette> wow, that looks brand new
[01:48:45] <hazzy-m> yeah, I got caried away
[01:48:46] <hazzy-m> lol
[01:48:52] <Lcvette> easy to do
[01:48:58] <Lcvette> labor of love
[01:49:10] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (425KB) < https://matrix.org >
[01:49:50] <Lcvette> oh sweet
[01:50:13] <hazzy-m> it has sat out in the rain, and was then painted with latex house paint, it was a mess
[01:50:20] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (545KB) < https://matrix.org >
[01:50:31] <Lcvette> ack
[01:50:43] <Lcvette> you put some hours into it
[01:50:59] <hazzy-m> yeah, a whole summer, lol
[01:51:08] <Lcvette> could sell it for a mint now probably and buy a little vmc
[01:53:02] <hazzy-m> yeah, actualy the guy I got it from wants it back. He was scrapping it, but said I couild have it if I'd haul it away
[01:53:04] <hazzy-m> hehe
[01:53:14] <Lcvette> hahaha
[01:53:15] <hazzy-m> ok, I better get some rest
[01:53:21] <Lcvette> ok man
[01:53:27] <Lcvette> awesome work!
[01:53:34] <Lcvette> machines and gui!
[01:53:44] <hazzy-m> thanks, can't wait to see the progress on the lathe
[01:53:54] <Lcvette> quick and dirty
[01:53:59] <Lcvette> night bud!
[01:54:16] <hazzy-m> gn8
