[09:14:42] <JT-Shop> morning
[09:15:44] <JT-Shop> how is the data channels coming along?
[09:17:42] <hazzy-m> very well! I think almost ready to merge
[09:17:54] <hazzy-m> still a few things to iron out, but very close
[09:18:03] <JT-Shop> sweet! I'm ready to try it out
[09:18:14] <hazzy-m> and then its on the the better actions
[09:22:49] <TurBoss> morning
[09:27:42] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: hey!
[09:30:12] <Lcvette> wow, i blinked and mesa released a whole slew of new cards
[09:31:00] <Lcvette> 7i95, 7i96, 7i97
[09:33:24] <hazzy-m> yes!
[09:34:02] <TurBoss> oh
[09:36:09] <TurBoss> nice
[09:38:47] <hazzy-m> I know somebody who is using a 7i96, but i can't remember who it is, darn it
[09:38:48] <hazzy-m> lol
[09:39:18] <Lcvette> you know what would be great
[09:39:29] <Lcvette> to have two cards
[09:40:50] <Lcvette> one 7i9x ethernet card for the main cabinet and one IO card for the interface box for buttons, mpg wheels etc so that the only cable running from the interface box would be a power cable and a ethernet cable
[09:41:02] <Lcvette> the rest of the connections would be short and close
[09:41:49] <Lcvette> run a small nuc or m.2 mobo with small power supply and have everything self contained int he interface cabinet
[09:42:01] <JT-Shop> yea and I have a configuration tool for the 7i96
[09:42:04] <hazzy-m> Yes, that is what I have done on my mill, only wires running to the panel are a DB25 and a power cord, it is self contained.
[09:43:06] <Lcvette> yeah easy enough with the 5i25 or 6i25 since it has expansion ports on it
[09:43:37] <hazzy-m> the 7i76 is in the cabinet. I am using the PC parport and an arduino for IO in the panel, but another interface card would be easier
[09:43:52] <Lcvette> but for bigger machines that can't span the distance with a db cable and have to use ethernet you would need some method to make that work
[09:44:24] <Lcvette> hmmm, never considered using something other than a mesa
[09:44:39] <Lcvette> didn't know you could "mix and match"
[09:44:56] <hazzy-m> sure, its linuxcnc, not mach3!!
[09:44:57] <hazzy-m> :D
[09:45:07] <hazzy-m> eric is uins a pokeys, LOL
[09:45:29] <hazzy-m> he just realized he could of used 7i73 instead
[09:45:44] <TurBoss> hazzy: getPlugin('status').stat.file return the file path or the file ?
[09:45:49] <hazzy-m> and my phone has been blowing up since :D
[09:46:02] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: yes it should
[09:46:07] <TurBoss> ha
[09:46:07] <TurBoss> ah
[09:46:20] <TurBoss> the file or the path ?
[09:46:25] <TurBoss> to the file
[09:47:04] <Lcvette> 7i73 looks interesting
[09:48:09] <TurBoss> ok I'm taking a look a at the gcode editor
[09:49:03] <Lcvette> in PB?
[09:49:07] <Lcvette> :D
[09:49:36] <TurBoss> no
[09:49:40] <Lcvette> :(
[09:49:51] <Lcvette> lol
[09:49:57] <Lcvette> you got me all excited
[09:50:11] <Lcvette> will it convert ofver?
[09:59:36] <TurBoss> I'm with the 3d Backplot
[09:59:42] <TurBoss> but I'm leaving
[09:59:44] <TurBoss> latter
[10:01:51] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: stat.file gives the full absolute file path
[10:01:58] <hazzy-m> cu
[10:02:19] <TurBoss> figured
[10:02:29] <TurBoss> ty
[10:02:29] <TurBoss> https://github.com
[10:04:36] <hazzy-m> no, not that again!
[10:04:38] <hazzy-m> :D
[10:04:38] <Lcvette> https://www.amazon.com
[10:05:19] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: Looks pretty decent, and no fans
[10:05:29] <Lcvette> low profile
[10:05:34] <Lcvette> uses power brick
[10:06:04] <hazzy-m> nice!
[10:06:07] <Lcvette> uses msata
[10:06:50] <hazzy-m> put a littl msata SSD in there and that would be a real nice compact unit
[10:06:56] <hazzy-m> wonder howthe latency is
[10:07:05] <Lcvette> i know me too
[10:07:20] <Lcvette> its intel
[10:07:28] <hazzy-m> pretty cheap gamble
[10:07:57] <hazzy-m> if you have ram etc. to try it with
[10:10:23] <Lcvette> thats the thing, i don't
[10:10:30] <Lcvette> i'd have to buy everything
[10:10:55] <Lcvette> including a new mesa card
[10:11:04] <Lcvette> i need to stick to what i have
[10:11:04] <Lcvette> lol
[10:11:18] <Lcvette> need a board that supports the 6i25 pcie small socket
[10:12:11] <Lcvette> otherwise i would have blought the one JT recommended on the spot\
[10:12:17] <Lcvette> it was cheap
[10:15:22] <pcw_home> The D2800 is pretty old, for a newer Mini ITX I would use a J3355,J3455,J4005 or J4105
[10:16:10] <Lcvette> oooh looking to see if they have the pcie small socket now
[10:16:10] <pcw_home> (PCIE is PCIE, slot size is don't-care as long as its big enough)
[10:16:34] <Lcvette> oh really?
[10:16:49] <Lcvette> i had no idea
[10:17:19] <Lcvette> so i can plug the 6i25 into the longer sockets?
[10:18:07] <pcw_home> Sure
[10:19:07] <Lcvette> well that changes things alot
[10:19:23] <Lcvette> thank you very much for that todbit!
[10:19:27] <Lcvette> tidbit
[10:19:28] <Lcvette> :D
[10:24:27] <Lcvette> https://www.amazon.com
[10:25:07] <Lcvette> if it says m.2 wifi, is that saying its only for wife or can that also take a ssd hard drive?
[10:30:13] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (31KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:31:16] <Lcvette> im new to m.2 but i know i like the idea of having things in one place and no cables
[10:31:19] <Lcvette> seems tidy
[11:51:45] <Roguish> hazzy-m: hey, going here today for a couple hours. pretty cool stuff: https://www.spie.org
[11:52:50] <JT-Shop> Roguish: did you get the bp mill gui to work?
[11:53:19] <Roguish> haven't tried yet. busy tying to make a buck...
[11:53:30] <JT-Shop> I hear that
[11:56:15] <hazzy-m> Roguish: Nice!
