[05:04:06] <JT-qtpyvcp> morning
[06:27:29] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton pushed 032 commits to 03master [+0/-0/±2] 13https://git.io/fhHnK
[06:27:30] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton 03b0c097a - DOC: fix return type
[06:27:31] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton 0383ab247 - DOC: add actionbutton syntax
[06:29:15] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07KurtJacobson pushed 031 commit to 03gh-pages [+394/-0/±0] 13https://git.io/fhHnP
[06:29:17] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07traviscibot 03935bcfd - Deploy kcjengr/qtpyvcp to github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.git:gh-pages
[06:42:00] <JT-qtpyvcp> might I suggest that status:feedrate and status:rapidrate be named feed-override and rapid-override
[08:39:34] <JT-qtpyvcp> how do you set the linear jog speed?
[08:59:52] <JT-qtpyvcp> https://github.com
[08:59:58] <JT-qtpyvcp> I made that this morning for fun
[09:16:06] -!- JT-Shop2 has joined #hazzy
[09:39:50] -!- Roguish has joined #hazzy
[09:44:40] <Lcvette> morning
[09:45:12] <Lcvette> in probe basic, the jog rate is max of machine velocity and the rate is set with the slider
[09:48:51] <JT-Shop> morning, yea but the slider does not start in the correct position for some reason and I can't figure out what the status label syntax is for jog speed
[09:49:33] <Lcvette> thats on the list of fixes
[09:49:46] <Lcvette> but if you bump it it correct for some reason
[09:52:11] <JT-Shop> yea I noticed that too
[09:59:17] <hazzy-m> Yes, that is one of the problems that will be fixed by the new DataChanels and Actions
[09:59:52] <hazzy-m> The problem is that the jogging and jogspeed is implemented in the actions (not in linuxcnc) so there is no linuxcnc.status item for it
[10:01:53] <hazzy-m> the new actions will have data channels so a button can be enabled based on the rule with the channel `machine.jog.ok` and you will also be able to get values from actions, for example 'machine.jog.speed`
[10:04:49] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: the status items come directly from the linuxcnc.stat items, so there is not really a way to change the name of things like status:feedrate, though agree the naming is not optimal? (feedrate seems like it should be the F word value .....)
[10:06:09] <hazzy-m> Hmmm, maybe I can make an alias named feed_override that points to feedrate!
[10:06:34] <JT-Shop> I have inspired you lol
[10:06:51] <hazzy-m> as usual!
[10:06:53] <hazzy-m> lol
[10:06:54] <hazzy-m> morning

[10:46:08] <hazzy-m> Hurray!! Mode buttons working
[10:46:12] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (293KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:46:35] <Lcvette> hurray!! and hurray for the first time hazzy posted a screen shot of PB
[10:46:37] <Lcvette> :D
[10:46:53] <hazzy-m> oh yes, that is true!
[10:47:04] * hazzy-m gets the champagne
[10:47:09] <Lcvette> hahaha
[10:47:11] <Lcvette> i like it!
[10:47:23] * hazzy-m makes due with a coffee top up
[10:47:24] <hazzy-m> lol
[10:48:30] <Lcvette> lcvette checks off that box in glo
[10:48:48] <Lcvette> i also reshuffle the list so all the outstanding items are at the bottom
[10:49:00] <Lcvette> last fixed is at the bottom of the checked list
[10:49:04] <hazzy-m> `[x]`
[10:49:11] <hazzy-m> [x] test
[10:49:14] <Lcvette> :D
[10:49:46] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07KurtJacobson pushed 031 commit to 03gh-pages [+394/-0/±0] 13https://git.io/fhH8c
[10:49:46] <hazzy-m> fail
[10:49:47] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07traviscibot 034b22a39 - Deploy kcjengr/qtpyvcp to github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.git:gh-pages
[10:49:50] <hazzy-m> great!
[10:50:56] <hazzy-m> what is the gcode editer window, the one on the main screen or the one on the file page?
[10:51:09] <Lcvette> file page
[10:51:23] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: just realized, BP Touch does not have a gcode viewer!
[10:51:31] <hazzy-m> ok
[10:51:31] <Lcvette> i figured one would want to be able to write a quick code blurb and save to file
[10:52:02] <hazzy-m> yes, I agree
[10:52:06] <Lcvette> but i think that is non critical
[10:52:56] <hazzy-m> so it probaly should have fine/replace, and save but does not need much more, right?
[10:52:56] <Lcvette> i have some ideas for that in the future to tie in with conversational as well
[10:53:00] <Lcvette> but thats for later
[10:53:05] <Lcvette> for now i think the core issues are more pressing
[10:53:28] <hazzy-m> yes, agreed
[10:53:36] <hazzy-m> ok, the list is getting shorter!!
[10:53:40] <Lcvette> let me think on the gcode editor
[10:53:50] <Lcvette> yay
[10:53:50] <Lcvette> :D
[10:56:24] <Lcvette> added a new item to glo
[10:56:27] <Lcvette> :(
[10:56:30] <Lcvette> rename button no worky
[10:59:48] <hazzy-m> stop finding new bugs!
[10:59:49] <hazzy-m> haha
[11:00:33] <hazzy-m> hmm, i wonder how rename works ..
[11:00:41] <Lcvette> uh oh
[11:00:47] <Lcvette> turboss
[11:00:57] <Lcvette> wake up
[11:01:02] <Lcvette> glenda wake turboss up
[11:01:08] <Lcvette> lol
[11:01:29] <hazzy-m> hohohoh
[11:02:01] <Lcvette> hot keys?
[11:02:03] <Lcvette> :D
[11:02:11] <Lcvette> ctrl+something?
[11:02:17] <Lcvette> lol
[11:02:25] <Lcvette> thats how you roll in mach3
[11:02:32] <Lcvette> lol
[11:14:31] <Lcvette> oh by the way we had a discussion regarding line numbers and i found my old notebooks the other day while going through the closet and in there i found a starred note on using an increment of 10 for numbering
[11:14:59] <Lcvette> this allowed the insertion of 9 additional code lines for future editing
[11:15:15] <Lcvette> N120-N130
[11:15:27] <Lcvette> N121,N122, N123 etc
[11:15:43] <Lcvette> forgot i saw that, made a mental note to tell you about it
[11:15:46] <Lcvette> :D
[11:18:49] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (66KB) < https://matrix.org >
[11:19:02] <Lcvette> how about those buttons?
[11:19:06] <Lcvette> they make sense to me?
[11:19:29] <hazzy-m> aha, yes! Then you can keep them in sequence if you need to add a few lines. I have also seen it recomended to repeat the same line number if you run out, but that could get confusing!
[11:19:45] <Lcvette> yeah
[11:19:57] <hazzy-m> looks great!
[11:20:12] <hazzy-m> maybe the fine/replace could be a popup dialog?
[11:21:04] <Lcvette> did i misinterperet your meaning?
[11:21:16] <Lcvette> was it supposed to be a field entry box?
[11:21:27] <hazzy-m> on, your right on, just thinking out loud
[11:21:55] <Lcvette> ok
[11:22:18] <Lcvette> i just figured I would add them in so they were there
[11:22:46] <hazzy-m> but there will need to be a find and replace with entry boxes, don't want to show them all the time probably for space, so either they could either be in a popup or apear in the lower part of the text view when needed
[11:22:53] <Lcvette> find replace would be useful for tool swapouts
[11:23:03] <hazzy-m> and feedrates!
[11:23:16] <Lcvette> yeah thats how i envisioned it
[11:23:21] <Lcvette> kind of like sublime
[11:23:45] <hazzy-m> ok, that should be easy enough to do
[11:24:11] <hazzy-m> the more i use PB here the more I like it
[11:24:31] <Lcvette> yeah?
[11:24:32] <Lcvette> :D
[11:24:40] <Lcvette> it is intuitive
[11:24:47] <Lcvette> thats why i like it
[11:25:14] <Lcvette> yet it is still very very capable without being overwhelming
[11:25:57] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (67KB) < https://matrix.org >
[11:26:20] <Lcvette> kind of like this is what i pictured when you hit the find/replace button
[11:26:33] <Lcvette> is that what you were thinking
[11:26:51] <hazzy-m> yes, exactly what I was envisioning here
[11:27:12] <Lcvette> good, this was the first program i used that fesature in so its the only one i could envision
[11:27:13] <Lcvette> :D
[11:27:15] <Lcvette> lol
[11:35:43] <JT-Shop> hazzy-m: did you see the TkEMC GUI I made this morning?
[11:38:45] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: No, were can I find it?
[11:41:04] <JT-qtpyvcp> https://github.com
[11:41:15] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: found it!
[11:41:18] <hazzy-m> you're knocking things out!
[11:42:47] <JT-qtpyvcp> also here https://forum.linuxcnc.org
[11:44:37] <JT-qtpyvcp> hazzy-m, did you do a pull on bp_touch?
[11:45:30] <hazzy-m> no, I will
[11:45:30] <JT-qtpyvcp> gcode editor is on the left set of tabs
[11:45:45] <hazzy-m> hurray!
[11:48:25] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (71KB) < https://matrix.org >
[11:48:36] <hazzy-m> That looks more like it, LOL
[11:53:10] <Lcvette> pushed changes
[11:53:12] <Lcvette> :D
[11:53:27] <Lcvette> mode buttons work awesome!
[11:54:10] <Lcvette> great job Hazzy!
[12:00:33] <JT-Shop> lol you made it blue
[12:00:40] <JT-Shop> did you to a PR?
[12:02:30] <hazzy-m> Hahaha, no, I think it looks better the way you have it
[12:03:35] <JT-Shop> me too but I like the slider size better
[12:08:16] <Lcvette> you can tweak the sliders JT
[12:08:23] <Lcvette> :D
[12:08:34] <Lcvette> now you are getting into my realm of magic
[12:08:40] <hazzy-m> that is with the motif theme
[12:08:42] <hazzy-m> linuxcnc sim/xyz.ini tkemc --theme=motif
[12:08:50] <hazzy-m> you make have to install it on debian
[12:09:23] <Lcvette> mm
[12:09:35] <Lcvette> lcvette is researching google for helpful tidbits
[12:09:48] <Lcvette> for the remaining PB issues at the moment
[12:20:54] <Lcvette> how do i find the rules tutorials?
[12:23:12] <Roguish> JT-qtpyvcp: hey, that Gcode remap error i was getting. I think it's directly related to something in Probe_screen. not sure but I'll confirm this weekend and post in the forum.
[12:23:46] <Roguish> bbl
[12:32:34] <JT-qtpyvcp> ok
[12:33:33] <JT-qtpyvcp> hazzy-m, did you do something to the jog slider to make it match the current feed rate?
[12:33:38] <JT-qtpyvcp> on tkemc
[12:34:00] <Lcvette> it works from go?
[12:34:30] <Lcvette> or after you move it like the rest?
[12:35:08] <JT-qtpyvcp> all the rest of the sliders go to the right position on start up
[12:36:19] <Lcvette> yeah the jog slider is at like 80 while the box says 100
[12:36:38] <Lcvette> in PB, if you slide the slider all the way to the right they then are synched from then on
[12:36:59] <Lcvette> its wierd
[12:38:27] <JT-qtpyvcp> yea
[12:55:00] <JT-Shop> hazzy-m: if you get a chance post the style you used on the sliders for tkemc
[12:55:42] <hazzy-m> it was just the motif theme
[12:55:53] <hazzy-m> --theme motif
[12:56:55] <JT-Shop> ah
[13:00:01] <Lcvette> hazzy, is the jog items somewhere in the machine_actions.py file?
[13:00:40] <Lcvette> that are in the glo list?
[13:01:39] <hazzy-m> yes
[13:11:04] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (34KB) < https://matrix.org >
[13:11:09] <Lcvette> whats inchmuil?
[13:11:34] <Lcvette> is that something or a typo?
[13:12:04] <Lcvette> hazzy
[13:14:52] <Lcvette> hazzy: ?
[13:14:59] <Lcvette> could this be an issue?
[13:15:10] <Lcvette> i don't see it anywhere else

[13:31:50] <hazzy-m> I'm out, will check
[16:06:35] -!- JT-qtpyvcp has quit [Quit: Leaving]
[17:37:03] <TurBoss> yo
[17:40:01] <JT-Shop> yo
[17:40:26] <Lcvette> yo
[17:40:40] <TurBoss> hello!
[17:41:02] <Lcvette> hahaha... was summoning you through glenda earlier
[17:41:49] <TurBoss> didn't work
[17:42:31] <Lcvette> Hazzy isn't sure how to make the rename button work in the file page
[17:51:44] <hazzy-m> yo
[17:51:49] <Lcvette> yo
[17:52:46] * hazzy-m can't find any 14-4 SOOW to hook up his new Huan Yang Ting VFD
[17:52:47] <hazzy-m> :(
[17:53:44] <Lcvette> just need 14-3
[17:53:45] <jthornton> electrical houses don't have any?
[17:53:51] <Lcvette> should have a ground in it
[17:54:10] <Lcvette> red/black/white/green=14-3
[17:54:29] <jthornton> 14-3 is black white green
[17:54:54] <jthornton> 14-3 w/G is red white black green
[17:55:10] <hazzy-m> that is what I need!
[17:55:22] <hazzy-m> been driving all over town, no luck
[17:55:33] <Lcvette> get some 12
[17:55:35] <jthornton> automation direct sells it by the foot
[17:55:48] <hazzy-m> the "14-3" everybody has doen't have a green
[17:55:49] <jthornton> are you near them?
[17:56:00] <hazzy-m> I'll have to drive out there and get some
[17:56:09] <hazzy-m> yes, about 45min!
[17:56:14] <Lcvette> lcvette has some here
[17:56:24] <jthornton> nice
[17:56:46] <jthornton> they even brag that there is no cut charge
[17:56:51] <Lcvette> thats a pretty standard wire
[17:57:09] <Lcvette> shocked no one has it on a roll
[17:57:39] <hazzy-m> so am I, I know I've bought it at home despot before
[17:57:55] <Lcvette> how long do you need?
[17:58:02] <hazzy-m> but even the specialty hardware dont have it
[17:58:08] <hazzy-m> only about 6ft
[17:58:26] <hazzy-m> I'll get it from McMaster otr AD
[17:58:26] <Lcvette> did you try looking for just a whip?
[17:58:46] <hazzy-m> yes, but they started at 10awg
[17:59:22] <jthornton> hmm not finding 14-4 at automation direct
[17:59:28] <jthornton> all thhn wire
[17:59:59] <Lcvette> thats because 14-3 is commonly known to be 4 conductor and a ground
[18:00:28] <Lcvette> 3 conductor one being a ground
[18:00:39] <Lcvette> you know what im saying
[18:00:42] <Lcvette> 4 wires total
[18:00:51] <Lcvette> 3 hots and a ground
[18:00:58] <Lcvette> 14/2 is single phase wire
[18:01:09] <Lcvette> 14/3 is 3 phase wire
[18:01:39] <jthornton> I've never seen 14-3 with 4 wires and I have thousands of feet of 16-3 and it only has 3 wires
[18:01:40] <Lcvette> but what do i know, i only worked at an electrical engineering firm for 6 years
[18:02:01] <jthornton> SE wire is like that but not so cord
[18:02:28] <Lcvette> jacketed wire is referred to as i stated
[18:02:34] <Lcvette> metalic or non metallic
[18:02:37] <hazzy-m> I am seeing the same thing as JT, 14-3 SOOW has a total of three conductors, which seems wrong
[18:03:21] <jthornton> https://www.mcmaster.com
[18:04:02] <jthornton> but that's the way cable is it's not like SE cable or jacketed house wire
[18:04:44] <jthornton> soow is 600v oil resistant inside and out and rated for outdoor
[18:05:32] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: IMG_20190208_180434936.jpg (241KB) < https://matrix.org >
[18:05:41] <jthornton> mcmaster carr 7081K32
[18:06:03] <Lcvette> there ya go hazzy
[18:06:30] <jthornton> your good to go then
[18:06:35] <hazzy-m> I found 4 feet of 4 conductor 12 guage SOOW left over from the BP, I know I got it at Home despot
[18:06:57] <Lcvette> that will work great!
[18:07:14] <hazzy-m> now quite long enough, but ok for now, at least I can test the new drive
[18:07:21] <Lcvette> i run 12 on my vfd
[18:07:42] <Lcvette> how long do you need?
[18:08:09] <hazzy-m> about 6ft for the final install
[18:08:24] <Lcvette> that looks like more than 6' in the photo
[18:09:27] <hazzy-m> oh, that is 60ft of 10-3 in the background
[18:09:47] <Lcvette> lol
[18:09:50] <hazzy-m> big mistake a few years ago, I thought 10-3 was 3 plus ground :(
[18:10:10] <hazzy-m> was for a generator hookup
[18:10:25] <jthornton> make a nice extension cord
[18:11:29] <Lcvette> its been 20 years but that is ALWAYS how we stated callouts for wire
[18:11:37] <Lcvette> conductors were not considered grounds
[18:14:21] <Lcvette> 14-3G
[18:14:29] <Lcvette> maybe thats what i was not remembering correctly
[18:14:43] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: I agree with you, I know if I got 12-3 NM it woulf be three conductors and a ground, but I guess it is not the same with the SOOW cable
[18:14:50] <hazzy-m> trips me up every time
[18:14:52] <jthornton> yea so cord is different than building wire
[18:15:08] <Lcvette> yeah i see that now

[21:33:18] <TurBoss> but are you interested on vtk thing?
[21:33:22] <TurBoss> or what?
[21:34:24] <hazzy-m> Yes, VTK is great!
[21:35:04] <hazzy-m> Seems much more flexable than plain GL, and it has STL readers and things like that for adding work peices desplays!
[21:35:16] <TurBoss> yes!
[21:35:20] <TurBoss> that could be awesome
[21:35:26] <TurBoss> would!

[21:35:54] <TurBoss> amazing!
[21:36:37] <hazzy-m> have you tried using the rs274 interpreter stand alone?
[21:36:43] <TurBoss> hmmm

[22:49:19] <TurBoss> ok I'll push
[22:49:27] <TurBoss> just removed the override
[22:49:34] <hazzy-m> I'm not sure why soft limits returns two lists, that seems strange
[22:50:22] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 034 commits to 03VTKCannon [+0/-0/±6] 13https://git.io/fhHwl

[22:50:41] <TurBoss> start and end points of a cube?
[22:52:47] <hazzy-m> yes, could be, but I would expect them to be in per joint, but they must be in cartisian space
[22:52:57] <hazzy-m> yea, you must be right
[22:53:00] <TurBoss> dun9o
[22:53:10] <TurBoss> but they are empty
[22:53:13] <TurBoss> just 0
[22:53:34] <hazzy-m> I never could get them to fire either
[22:54:01] <hazzy-m> I tried to use them to disable the jog buttons at the end of travel, but they never changed from 0
[22:59:59] <TurBoss> pprint(self.status.stat.axis) return some info
[23:01:54] <Lcvette> Hazzy, did you indirect that snippet I sent earlier?
[23:02:01] <Lcvette> Inspect
[23:03:39] <Lcvette> Don't know if it would affect anything or not, but I want sure if the spelling was intentional or typo
[23:04:32] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (34KB) < https://matrix.org >
[23:05:09] <TurBoss> whats that?
[23:05:31] <Lcvette> The (" inchmuil")

[23:14:28] <Lcvette> Machine_actions.pyp I think
[23:14:32] <TurBoss> k
[23:14:33] <Lcvette> Py
[23:16:01] <TurBoss> looks ok to me
[23:16:26] <TurBoss> it removes all spaces betwen the quotes
[23:16:59] * TurBoss uploaded an image: image.png (66KB) < https://matrix.org >
[23:17:29] <TurBoss> it removes all spaces betwen the quotes
[23:17:30] <TurBoss> that wrong
[23:18:02] <TurBoss> it removes all chars in jogincr that are inside the quotes
[23:21:24] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: yes, that is fine, it just cleans up any extra characters so just the number is left
[23:21:50] <hazzy-m> for example "10 mill" would be clendd up to just "10"
[23:22:08] <TurBoss> is muil ok?
[23:22:53] <hazzy-m> yes, because you might have "10 um" for ten micrometer jon inc
[23:22:57] <hazzy-m> jog*
[23:23:21] <TurBoss> OK!
[23:23:42] <hazzy-m> hmm, but why is it rstrip? seems like it should be lstrip ..
[23:23:47] <hazzy-m> but it works!
[23:23:50] <TurBoss> hoho
[23:23:54] <hazzy-m> so I guess it it ok

[23:25:24] <Lcvette> Ok
[23:27:39] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 031 commit to 03VTKCannon [+0/-0/±1] 13https://git.io/fhHwi
[23:27:41] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03d4d58bd - try to display machine limits

[23:32:01] <hazzy-m> hey, those are the limits of my machine!
[23:32:22] <TurBoss> hehee
[23:32:27] <TurBoss> i jaked you
[23:32:52] <hazzy-m> hmm, it looks like that should work
[23:33:17] <TurBoss> but Y axis shows -15 to 15 range instead
[23:34:17] <TurBoss> https://stackoverflow.com
[23:38:06] <Lcvette> I was rooting around looking for a reason why that slider starts out funny
[23:38:10] <Lcvette> No luck
[23:38:47] <TurBoss> afk 10 min
[23:42:17] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: The slider starts out right I think (starts out at the default jog speed set in the INI)
[23:42:39] <hazzy-m> the problem is that the label is getting its data from the slider position, not from the actualy jog speed
[23:42:56] <hazzy-m> because right now there is no conveniant way to get the jog speed
[23:43:23] <hazzy-m> so once I finish the new DataChannels and actions that will be easy to fix, but not untill then
[23:43:31] <Lcvette> Ah
[23:44:03] <hazzy-m> I just had to go thru it agaon to see how it worked :)
[23:44:10] <Lcvette> Lol
