[00:34:42] <Lcvette> Hola
[05:15:00] <JT-qtpyvcp> morning
[06:18:14] <hazzy-m> Morning
[06:19:57] <JT-qtpyvcp> wow your on early today
[06:21:04] <JT-qtpyvcp> trying to get motioneye to work again :( trying ubutntu 18.04 server this time
[06:26:05] <hazzy-m> hurray! Finaly got my brother to switch from Mach3 to LinuxCNC!
[06:27:00] <hazzy-m> he is a production luthier, so runs the CNC a LOT for roughing instrument tops and backs
[06:28:31] <JT-qtpyvcp> sweet
[06:31:07] <JT-qtpyvcp> hmm I'm seeing something about cloud on the server... I don't like that
[06:34:01] * hazzy-m runs the linuxcnc stretch ISO (including the RT kernel) on his server, lol
[06:35:33] <JT-qtpyvcp> I think I'll put debian 9 on the server
[06:36:12] <JT-qtpyvcp> is datachannel ready to test any bits of it?
[06:37:27] <hazzy-m> it is mostly working, the main thing left it to finish converting status over to using the new channels
[06:37:57] <JT-qtpyvcp> is there any monkey see monkey do work?
[06:40:28] <hazzy-m> yes, it should be pretty straght forward to add what rest of the status items, all that realy needs to be added are the items that need string representations
[06:40:50] <hazzy-m> the rest of the status items are added automajicaly by inspecting the linuxcnc.stat module
[06:42:54] <JT-qtpyvcp> like the task_state function?
[06:44:15] <hazzy-m> yes
[06:45:31] <hazzy-m> also need to find a way to pass self to the DataChannel rather than the chan instance ...
[06:45:42] <hazzy-m> but that is not a big deal right now
[06:45:48] <JT-qtpyvcp> that might be fun
[06:46:29] <hazzy-m> Ok! It would help out a lot if you don't mind messing with it!
[06:46:56] <JT-qtpyvcp> looking at it now while debian 9 installs
[06:47:43] <JT-qtpyvcp> I'll be in Tunica today and return tomorrow sometime so I may not get much done
[06:48:48] <hazzy-m> i have no expectations!
[06:49:05] <JT-qtpyvcp> then you won't be disappointed lol
[06:49:42] * hazzy-m is off to ride on a 746W animal (not exactaly his idea of fun ...)
[06:50:03] <JT-qtpyvcp> what is that?
[06:50:29] <hazzy-m> a hose, lol
[06:50:52] <JT-qtpyvcp> lol
[07:13:32] <JT-qtpyvcp> one done and tested and docstrings added to the ones that are missing
[08:18:56] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton pushed 031 commit to 03DataChannel [+0/-0/±1] 13https://git.io/fhHi0
[08:18:57] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton 03b1d139a - WIP: add status items that return text
[08:19:41] <JT-qtpyvcp> I was not sure what to do with linear_units so I left it out
[08:36:59] <Lcvette> morning
[08:54:16] <JT-qtpyvcp> morning
[09:03:30] <TurBoss> gelou
[10:16:05] <JT-qtpyvcp> hazzy-m, after you review status.py just remove my block comments
[10:40:13] <JT-qtpyvcp> see you tomorrow afternoon...

[14:08:20] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07KurtJacobson pushed 031 commit to 03DataChannel [+0/-0/±1] 13https://git.io/fhHDQ
[14:08:21] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton 03c3a0fae - WIP: add status items that return text
[14:51:34] <Lcvette> hazzy did you get your cable?
[14:52:06] <hazzy-m> no, just got back from riding
[14:52:25] <hazzy-m> trying to help my brother get is lim and home sw set up in HAL
[14:53:01] <hazzy-m> he has mimited inputs to has to ignore some switeches when the other axes are homing ...
[14:53:49] <Lcvette> no mesa?
[14:54:33] <hazzy-m> no, its a mach3 machine with smothstepper
[14:54:47] <Lcvette> ah, shared limits
[14:54:47] <hazzy-m> and G540 drives
[14:54:58] <Lcvette> and home
[14:55:03] <hazzy-m> yep, shared limits and probe input :(
[14:55:07] <Lcvette> or just home and soft limits
[14:55:26] <hazzy-m> shared limits, home and probe!
[14:55:28] <hazzy-m> lol
[14:55:34] <Lcvette> or toss in a second paraport
[14:55:48] <Lcvette> if he has a smooth stepper he has lots of expansion
[14:55:56] <hazzy-m> that is what he needs to do
[14:56:01] <Lcvette> up to 3 total
[14:56:36] <hazzy-m> or get a 5i25 and run the G540 off that and use the second parport for switches
[14:57:56] <Lcvette> a c10 board is only like $23
[14:58:00] <Lcvette> https://cnc4pc.com
[14:58:54] <hazzy-m> yea, and he'd be fine with even cheaper BOBs
[14:59:24] <Lcvette> or you could go straight to the ss pins
[15:03:17] <Lcvette> https://www.amazon.com
[15:03:25] <Lcvette> thats what i run on my G0704 with the ESS
[15:03:32] <Lcvette> makes it nice
[15:03:43] <Lcvette> plugs right onto the board
[15:03:55] <Lcvette> then you can still use the G540 if you want
[15:04:12] <Lcvette> and have all the inputs and outputs
[15:05:26] <Lcvette> https://cnc4pc.com
[15:05:28] <Lcvette> or this one
[15:08:05] <Lcvette> what type machine is it on?
[15:23:35] -!- JT-Mobile has joined #hazzy
[15:23:56] <JT-Mobile> hi
[15:25:06] <JT-Mobile> log
[15:25:30] <Lcvette> hi JT
[15:25:37] <Lcvette> do you not have matrix?
[15:25:52] <JT-Mobile> no
[15:26:17] <Lcvette> https://riot.im
[15:26:41] <Lcvette> way better than the other way of using the irc
[15:26:52] <Lcvette> keeps constant history and files shared etc
[15:27:03] <Lcvette> easy to share images
[15:27:07] <Lcvette> vids
[15:27:08] <Lcvette> etc
[15:27:19] <JT-Mobile> does it use a lot of bandwidth?
[15:27:39] <Lcvette> no more than the irc i don't think unless you are sharing files
[15:28:07] <Lcvette> images etc
[15:29:06] <JT-Mobile> ok I'll check it out when I get back from Tunica
[15:31:55] * Lcvette uploaded an image: Untitled.png (22KB) < https://matrix.org >
[15:32:05] <Lcvette> doesn't use anything siting idle
[15:32:34] <Lcvette> and when i send a message it barely registers a blip of 0.1 which i think is the smallest increment it can show
[15:33:36] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (165KB) < https://matrix.org >
[15:34:09] <Lcvette> thats what it looks like
[15:34:16] <Lcvette> it is also available on your phone
[15:34:20] <Lcvette> and tablet
[15:34:25] <Lcvette> can download it now
[15:34:25] <Lcvette> :D
[15:34:42] <Lcvette> riot im in google play store
[15:35:58] <Lcvette> and when you open the app, if you want to scroll back you can to see previous conversations
[15:36:10] <Lcvette> but it won't load all of them unless you keep scrolling back
[15:36:17] <Lcvette> can also use log
[15:36:28] <Lcvette> it is superior to IRC
[17:58:55] <JT-Mobile> back from the buffet lol
[17:59:58] <hazzy-m> JT-Mobile status changes look great, thanks!
[18:00:17] * hazzy-m almost has the vfd wired
[18:01:05] <JT-Mobile> your welcome, I could not figure out units before I ran out of time
[18:02:08] <JT-Mobile> I tested everything so I think that is good to go
[18:03:15] <JT-Mobile> what needs to be done to machine positions?
[18:10:29] <hazzy-m> I think positions is already working
[18:10:53] <hazzy-m> Tooltable needs a little more work, I'll try to do that tonight
[18:11:18] <JT-Mobile> is the syntax different in data channels?
[18:11:29] <JT-Mobile> if so the docstring might be wrong
