[17:18:32] <jt-m[m]> any idea why when I post on riot in linuxcnc I don't see it in hexchat?
[17:19:23] <hazzy-m> yes, you need to idenify with nickserve
[17:20:34] <JT-Shop> ok
[17:20:41] <hazzy-m> jt-m: in the lower left hand cirner there is a little man with the tooltip 'start chat'
[17:21:10] <hazzy-m> click him and type NickServe and choose the one for freenode IRC to open a provate chat
[17:21:23] <hazzy-m> then identify nick pass as usual
[17:22:04] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: a PCIe will work in a PCI slot as well, right?
[17:23:04] <hazzy-m> no, of cource not, LOL
[17:27:00] <JT-Shop> hazzy-m: no
[17:27:10] <JT-Shop> I forgot about the freenode spam crap lol
[17:27:43] <JT-Shop> so can I register the same nick at freenode and matrix?
[17:28:00] <TurBoss> yes
[17:28:15] <TurBoss> start a chat with @appservice-irc:matrix.org
[17:28:53] <JT-Shop> thanks
[17:29:09] * JT-Shop goes to check the LAN cable in the chicken coop
[17:30:05] * TurBoss can't find din5 connectors in local shops
[17:30:07] <TurBoss> lol
[17:30:17] * hazzy-m just realizes it's the chickens using all the data
[17:30:22] <TurBoss> is too old they saud
[17:30:44] <TurBoss> I can ddos your server :D
[17:30:56] <TurBoss> and waste your bandwith
[17:31:04] <TurBoss> :P
[17:31:18] * hazzy-m installs win7
[17:31:19] <hazzy-m> Lol
[17:31:21] <TurBoss> hoho
[17:31:29] <TurBoss> why?
[17:32:27] * hazzy-m has been completely windows free for about 4 months!
[17:32:38] <hazzy-m> For solidworks :(
[17:32:50] <TurBoss> yay
[17:34:08] * TurBoss is working on a TurBoHub

[20:09:44] <TurBoss> is alive!
[20:10:01] <hazzy-m> Nice!
[20:10:47] <TurBoss> ty
[20:59:50] <Lcvette> So pcie will not fit in PCI?
[21:00:01] <Lcvette> I thought PC's said it would?
[21:02:29] <hazzy-m> A PCIe x1 will fit in a PCIe x16, but not in a regular PCI
[21:02:38] <Lcvette> Or was it pcie will fit any pcie
[21:02:40] * hazzy-m learned this today
[21:02:50] <hazzy-m> yes
[21:02:53] <Lcvette> Ah
[21:03:33] * hazzy-m is not haveing any luck installing Fusion360
[21:03:38] <hazzy-m> been at if for hours
[21:03:43] * hazzy-m hates windows
[21:03:44] <hazzy-m> lol
[21:04:46] <Lcvette> What are you installing on?
[21:05:04] <hazzy-m> win7 Pro 64Bit
[21:05:05] <Lcvette> Something weird??
[21:05:46] <hazzy-m> bone stock, nothing else installed
[21:05:55] <hazzy-m> all I'm going to use this for is Fusion360
[21:05:56] <Lcvette> All updates performed?
[21:06:01] <hazzy-m> yes
[21:06:17] <hazzy-m> though it keeps finding more ...
[21:06:33] <hazzy-m> not sure why it can't find them all at once
[21:06:33] <Lcvette> Yeah you have to keep running out on a new install
[21:06:53] <Lcvette> Because it installs them in stages sometimes
[21:07:15] <Lcvette> Some have to be installed first and seperate
[21:07:32] <hazzy-m> IE would not even let me download and install Firefox for Vivaldi :(
[21:07:42] <hazzy-m> if failed with some strange system error
[21:08:04] <Lcvette> Keep running updates
[21:08:21] <Lcvette> Keep restaring
[21:08:30] <Lcvette> Takes alot
[21:08:46] <Lcvette> Especially for Windows 7
[21:08:49] <hazzy-m> security updates thru 2019-02 are installed, so I assume that is a resent at is gets
[21:08:55] <Lcvette> Be better off going windows 10
[21:09:17] <Lcvette> I'm loving windows 10
[21:09:46] <hazzy-m> I tried win10 but since I only use it every few months it is a huge pain becaue it has to go all the updates each time I use it, and you can't turn them off
[21:09:56] <hazzy-m> I turn off the win7 updates so it is usable
[21:10:09] <hazzy-m> and only do then when I plan for it
[21:10:20] <Lcvette> You can set updates on Windows 10
[21:10:43] <Lcvette> Who told you you can't?
[21:10:51] <Lcvette> Is very flexible
[21:11:00] <Lcvette> You can schedule it
[21:11:05] <hazzy-m> they predend to let you but is still does them, I know from experiance over the last few years using win10
[21:11:13] <Lcvette> You can set what gets updates
[21:11:48] <Lcvette> Mine sticks too the schedule I set
[21:13:15] <hazzy-m> The problem is I use it so infrequently, if I left it on over night from time to time it would probably work, but since I use Linux primarily that never happens
[21:14:46] <Lcvette> If you plan to use it with fusion, I would strongly consider it
[21:15:23] <hazzy-m> win10?
[21:16:49] <hazzy-m> it is what I have mainly used for the past few years, but my other win7 machine (which is slower and has less ram) runs fusion and solidworks much better and never given me trouble with updates, the win10 machine was always a pain and never worked right
[21:16:49] <Lcvette> Yeah
[21:17:11] <Lcvette> Ah
[21:17:11] <Lcvette> Ok
[21:17:20] <Lcvette> Maybe it's your computer
[21:19:18] <Lcvette> Video drivers or some other driver maybe
[21:19:49] <Lcvette> When I wrote mine I had some issues from drivers that plagued me until I resolved
[21:20:01] <Lcvette> Now they are fixed and all is well
[21:20:34] <hazzy-m> it is interesting you mention that, with win10 I never could get the resolution set right even with the proper proprietary drivers, with win7 it is working perfect out of the box
[21:21:37] <Lcvette> I had to get drives direct from nvdia
[21:22:00] <Lcvette> That resolved all my issues
[21:22:52] <hazzy-m> in the graphics lab at school they still run win7 because it was such a nightmare when they tried win10, but that was a while back, things have probably gotten better
[21:24:17] <hazzy-m> yea, I have a fancy FirePro CAD card (the one specifically for solidworks), but it never worked right with win10 even with the win10 drivers
[21:25:15] <Lcvette> Mine is an Nvidia Quadro car graphics card and works awesome with the correct drivers and settings
[21:26:07] <hazzy-m> yeah, I might actually do better with something less dedicated
[21:26:28] <Lcvette> Mine is dedicated
[21:26:37] <Lcvette> Specifically designed for cad
[21:26:54] <Lcvette> For solid works
[21:28:10] <hazzy-m> oh, nice! it's been a while since I checked what cards SW supported
[21:28:20] <Lcvette> Whole system is a cad work station
[21:28:38] <Lcvette> Core i7
[21:28:44] <Lcvette> 32gb ram
[21:30:59] <hazzy-m> Nice! I need more ram, only have 12GB
[21:31:28] <hazzy-m> its an i7 running at 4.2Ghz though, so it is reasonably zippy
[21:31:51] <hazzy-m> Hurray!
[21:32:06] <hazzy-m> looks like I got past the problem in F360
[21:32:25] <hazzy-m> at 68% now, it used to quit at 38%
[21:33:44] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (27KB) < https://matrix.org >
[21:33:48] <hazzy-m> Spoke too soon :(
[21:35:18] <Lcvette> Hmmm
[21:35:26] <Lcvette> Request support
[21:38:58] <Lcvette> SSL issue
[21:39:27] <Lcvette> Maybe a setting
[21:39:33] <Lcvette> In Windows
[21:40:04] <hazzy-m> it is in a python library lol
[21:40:09] <hazzy-m> ` File "C:\3P\PYTHON\3.5.3c\win64_sp\lib\ssl.py", line 583, in read
[21:40:10] <hazzy-m> ssl.SSLError: [SSL: WRONG_VERSION_NUMBER] wrong version number (_ssl.c:2090)`
[21:40:43] <hazzy-m> I turned the fire wall and everything off, but it did not help\
[21:46:35] <Lcvette> Are you installing as administrator?
[21:47:32] <Lcvette> Also are you downloading and installing or trying to install direct from site?
[21:48:51] <hazzy-m> downloading and installing
[21:48:58] <hazzy-m> and yes, as admin
[21:49:29] <Roguish> have you done the requisite 23 reboots?
[21:50:47] <hazzy-m> yes, and signed away my first borne and slaughtered a lizard over a tea candle
[21:51:05] <Roguish> so, what's the problem then?
[21:51:33] <hazzy-m> F360 wont install because of an SSL error
[21:54:10] <Roguish> wf
[21:54:14] <Roguish> wtf
[21:56:12] <Lcvette> Are you using firefox?
[21:56:38] <Lcvette> If so that's your problem
[21:56:53] <Lcvette> Try twisting with is or chrome
[21:57:01] <Lcvette> Should install first try
[21:57:08] <Roguish> go with chrome.
[21:57:29] <Lcvette> You Linux loyalists and your oddball programs
[21:57:31] <Lcvette> Lol
[21:58:05] <Roguish> https://www.bleepingcomputer.com
[21:59:37] <hazzy-m> What does the web browser have to do with it's? it's not involved in any way, but I was using chrome
[22:00:44] <Lcvette> It is involved
[22:00:57] <Lcvette> Fusion is web based
[22:01:30] <Lcvette> That's in the list of resolutions for that error
[22:01:31] <hazzy-m> Right, but that doesn't mean it uses a web browser, lol
[22:03:59] <Lcvette> https://knowledge.autodesk.com
[22:04:01] <Lcvette> Ok
[22:04:39] <Lcvette> You're the coder, I just read the instructions
[22:04:39] <Lcvette> :p
[22:04:46] <Roguish> rofl
[22:12:19] <hazzy-m> only thing in that list I have not tried is renaming the file, trying that now
[22:15:48] <hazzy-m> also maybe it could be a timeout or something because my internet connection is so slow
[22:23:22] <hazzy-m> failed with the same error :(
[22:25:59] <Roguish> take it to your local starbucks for a faster connection.
[22:27:21] <hazzy-m> It's tempting!
[22:27:50] <hazzy-m> (but they might frown at me taking a desktop in)
[22:27:56] <Roguish> any way to download a complete install file?
[22:29:29] <hazzy-m> not that I can see, but that would be ideal
[22:30:12] <Roguish> https://knowledge.autodesk.com under Purchases & Free Trials
[22:31:43] <hazzy-m> That is what I did, I downloaded from my acount, but it still seems to need to download some things
[22:32:21] <hazzy-m> its an 11mb file, so I guess that is not the whole thing
[22:35:46] <Roguish> found an 11.1mb file to download on an independent site. probably the same file.
[22:38:28] <Roguish> https://knowledge.autodesk.com
[22:42:22] <Lcvette> Still no luck?
[22:42:35] <hazzy-m> no :(
[22:42:50] <hazzy-m> I think i'll try to instal SolidWorks 2019 and see if that works
[22:44:04] <hazzy-m> oh, more updates!
[22:46:19] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (17KB) < https://matrix.org >
[22:46:21] <hazzy-m> hehe
[22:47:38] <Lcvette> Install them all before trying to install again see if it helps
[22:49:07] <hazzy-m> that is the only update it lists, but it fails to install it even after a restart
[22:52:21] <Lcvette> Wonder why it fails
[22:58:04] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (15KB) < https://matrix.org >
[22:58:18] <hazzy-m> looks good, right? but then it fails again
[22:58:19] <hazzy-m> lol
[22:59:39] <hazzy-m> wonder if it is a bug with that update, says it was published today ...
[23:02:03] <Lcvette> Lol
[23:02:14] <Lcvette> All good....sike
[23:02:17] <Lcvette> Lol
[23:02:49] <Lcvette> Psych
[23:02:51] <Lcvette> Lol
