Back
[00:50:16] <hazzy-m> lol
[00:50:26] <hazzy-m> he has been hiding
[01:01:14] <Lcvette> I spy turboss
[01:01:23] <TurBoss> yo
[01:01:30] <Lcvette> :O
[01:01:46] <hazzy-m> Hey hey!
[01:01:53] <Lcvette> Hoho
[01:01:57] <hazzy-m> TurBoss lives!
[01:02:01] <hazzy-m> Hurray!
[01:02:03] <Lcvette> Turbo turboss
[01:02:10] <Lcvette> Hurray
[01:02:33] <TurBoss> sup
[01:03:27] <hazzy-m> Made good progress on settings
[01:04:07] <Lcvette> I recalled all images and shrink probe basic from 14mb to 2mb
[01:04:14] <Lcvette> Rescaled
[01:04:52] <Lcvette> I played in qml trying to solve some things to help but I failed
[01:05:48] <TurBoss> hurray
[01:05:52] <Lcvette> I am keep trying though
[01:05:57] <TurBoss> you tried at least
[01:06:04] <Lcvette> Yes
[01:06:27] <Lcvette> I figured out some things and adjusted
[01:06:49] <Lcvette> It's very elegant
[01:07:56] <Lcvette> But it's compacted now so that I'm not sure how to make changes on some things
[01:09:57] <Lcvette> I was trying to figure how to make the numbers stay aligned
[01:10:34] <Lcvette> I want sure if you had some code in there that want working or if it needed new lines of code for that
[01:38:43] <TurBoss> Lcvette: I'll finisht the atc once I figure how to spin the pocket numbers and tools
[01:40:12] <Lcvette> Do you have code lines in place for that?
[01:41:12] <Lcvette> I was thinking they should just need to be the inverse of the image rotation
[01:41:29] <TurBoss> thats fixd
[01:42:05] <TurBoss> ah
[01:42:06] <TurBoss> no
[01:42:07] <TurBoss> :D
[01:42:08] <Lcvette> I mean the individual pocket and tool numbers
[01:42:34] <TurBoss> I need to get the element of the repeater in the current slot
[01:42:45] <TurBoss> I'll spy on the lathe touch off
[01:42:50] <TurBoss> I did once
[01:42:55] <Lcvette> Rotation: inverse(image rotation)
[01:43:14] <TurBoss> ohhh
[01:43:16] <TurBoss> that works?=
[01:43:31] <Lcvette> It would but I dunno the right syntax
[01:44:12] <Lcvette> They will always be the opposite of the main image rotationon though
[01:44:55] <Lcvette> Same degree in opposite direction to maintain vertical position
[01:45:33] <Lcvette> I'm age rotate 60* CCW, numbers must rotate 60* CW
[01:45:48] <Lcvette> Image'
[01:46:57] <TurBoss> yes
[01:50:11] <Lcvette> That would work good in the repeater
[01:50:50] <Lcvette> Since you don't need to worry about how many items and divisions to here are
[01:51:05] <Lcvette> Just need to do that once for the main image rotation
[01:51:26] <Lcvette> After all the numbers will always work correctly
[01:51:31] <Lcvette> :D
[01:52:01] <Lcvette> But lcvette couldn't figure out the syntax
[01:52:29] <Lcvette> Kept getting errors guessing and didn't find anything with an example online
[01:52:51] <Lcvette> Everything seemed to be fine or boxes and rows or grids
[01:53:21] <Lcvette> Not for rotational
[01:54:42] <Lcvette> Ok lcvette hoes to sleep now
[01:54:52] <Lcvette> Has early day and is almost 2am
[01:54:59] <TurBoss> I'm getting errors too
[01:55:05] <TurBoss> n8
[01:55:10] <Lcvette> Night!
[01:55:22] <Lcvette> We will slay that dragon
[01:55:29] <TurBoss> :)
[03:10:30] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 032 commits to 03ATC [+0/-0/±3] 13https://git.io/fhjhK
[03:10:31] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03c2d8bb5 - fix direction
[03:10:33] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 0394c99db - fix some stuff (rotation is missing)
[05:30:13] <silopolis[m]> morning :)
[05:35:12] <silopolis[m]> Slightly OT but... What does it takes to access a Gitter room here in Riot ?
[05:35:14] <TurBoss> hello
[05:35:45] <TurBoss> you need to add an integration
[05:36:01] <TurBoss> the 4 squares icon at top right
[05:38:34] <TurBoss> silopolis: you told about PTZ ?
[05:38:37] <TurBoss> sorry was away
[05:38:49] <silopolis[m]> yep
[05:38:52] <TurBoss> about CCTV stuff
[05:38:54] <silopolis[m]> NoP
[05:39:15] <jt-m[m]> morning
[05:39:18] <TurBoss> hi JT
[05:39:33] <silopolis[m]> yes, seemed like an interesting framework/backend for CamView stuff
[05:39:41] <TurBoss> ah
[05:40:30] <TurBoss> you can try to code something on the camview if you need
[05:40:44] <TurBoss> I'm focused on the ATC stuff right no
[05:40:45] <TurBoss> w
[05:40:59] <silopolis[m]> a CCTV oriented backend would bring PTZ, streaming, multi-cam, image recognition etc to the table, compared to a pure streaming one
[05:41:53] <silopolis[m]> Plus, many should already have mobile app handy
[05:41:54] <TurBoss> yeah
[05:43:10] <silopolis[m]> also found this https://evercam.io with maybe interesting ideas
[05:43:23] <silopolis[m]> TurBoss:
[05:43:27] <silopolis[m]> sorry
[05:43:30] <TurBoss> np
[05:44:59] <silopolis[m]> Contributing to this project would, and I really hope will, be one of my ultimate achievements of all this DIY CNC endeavour :)
[05:46:49] <TurBoss> :)
[05:47:34] <silopolis[m]> Talking with a guy on DIY CNC Machine FB group this morning, also came the idea of a "Maintenance" tab of some kind with UI to manage things like auto-lubrication, coolant, pumps, auger/conveyor...
[05:47:59] <TurBoss> nice
[05:52:30] <silopolis[m]> and as a former SysAdmin/BOFH/DevOps wannabe, I'm quite monitoring addicted and would love to collect all data possible about the environment, machine and jobs to graph and process them in another tab
[05:53:43] <silopolis[m]> those data should also be available on the network to be able to be able to build a kind of shop monitoring panel
[05:55:12] <TurBoss> I was a bofh too
[05:55:12] <TurBoss> :P
[05:55:42] <TurBoss> I have to leave
[05:55:47] <TurBoss> feel free to leave notes
[05:56:27] <silopolis[m]> most of the work have been done by the IT guys for the storage, processing and graphing part, sensors based data collection should have been long managed by IoT folks, now to port and integrate this into LinuxCNC
[05:56:42] <silopolis[m]> haha ;)
[05:56:48] <silopolis[m]> c u man
[05:56:52] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton pushed 031 commit to 03master [+0/-0/±1] 13https://git.io/fjev3

[06:48:02] <TurBoss> ni JT
[06:48:09] <TurBoss> nice*
[06:48:46] <TurBoss> i have a mess with the ATC
[06:49:11] <TurBoss> :)
[06:50:01] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07KurtJacobson pushed 031 commit to 03gh-pages [+423/-0/±0] 13https://git.io/fjef2

[08:03:43] <jt-m[m]> I need to base the frame on a grid somehow
[08:13:33] <TurBoss> what?
[08:16:02] <jt-m[m]> the new frame widget needs to be based on a grid
[08:32:09] <hazzy-m> Morning
[08:32:55] <jt-m[m]> morning
[08:33:24] <jt-m[m]> the frame widget needs to be based on a grid but I've failed to figure out how to do that lol
[09:02:55] <Lcvette> morning!
[09:04:12] <jt-m[m]> oh and I fixed the no program loaded error with the program bounds, ticks and labels in the vtkbackplot
[09:04:31] <jt-m[m]> for the toggles
[09:05:33] <Lcvette> it was broken?
[09:08:08] <jt-m[m]> yea if you started a vcp without a program loaded and click on a toggle it tossed up an error because there was no program for the vcp to generate the bounds etc
[09:08:41] <jt-m[m]> I put OPEN_FILE = "" in my display section because I don't care to have a splash file load
[09:09:30] <Lcvette> ahhhh
[09:15:40] * hazzy-m is on the frame
[09:18:34] -!- JT-Shop has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[09:20:05] -!- JT-Shop has joined #hazzy
[09:20:58] * JT-Shop can't wait to see how hazzy-m adds the grid layout
[09:37:46] <TurBoss> ahhh
[09:37:53] <TurBoss> good morning
[09:41:57] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: hmm, why do you need a grid layout? lol
[09:42:16] <hazzy-m> does setting the frame layout to grid not do what you need?
[09:42:51] <Lcvette> yeah JT GOSH
[09:42:55] <Lcvette> lol
[09:43:18] <Lcvette> what do you need?
[09:43:37] * hazzy-m is finding it harder than he thought to make a grid layout lol
[09:43:59] <Lcvette> grid layouts suck
[09:45:00] <JT-Shop> without some kind of layout stuff just gets placed where you drop it
[09:45:34] <Lcvette> i found if you want control over them its almost easier to make a widget with horizontal layout, then do frames inside with vertical layouts
[09:45:41] <JT-Shop> I didn't see a setting for grid
[09:45:48] <Lcvette> that way you can define the grid yourself
[09:45:54] <hazzy-m> ah, you can right click and set layout to whatever you need
[09:45:57] <Lcvette> the grid layout is all willy nilly
[09:46:04] <hazzy-m> lol
[09:46:18] <JT-Shop> I don't have any problems with a grid
[09:46:43] <Lcvette> just you wait JT
[09:47:07] <Lcvette> in my yoda voice... "You will be, you will be"
[09:47:20] <Lcvette> they will screw you up
[09:47:45] <Lcvette> if you set them and never touch them you will be ok
[09:47:56] <Lcvette> but god help you if you need to move resize or edit them
[09:48:06] <Lcvette> they go nuts
[09:48:27] <JT-Shop> lol
[09:48:39] <Lcvette> the way i mentioned you have complete control over everything
[09:50:16] <Lcvette> turns into a whackamole game
[09:51:00] <Lcvette> you can use the right click option and turn frames and widgets into layouts
[09:51:23] <Lcvette> i find it works better especially if you want more control
[09:52:42] <Lcvette> once you make them layouts you have the layout settings for spacing, margins, etc
[09:53:18] <Lcvette> if you need one column to be a bit bigger then the others no problem
[09:53:22] <Lcvette> same with rows etc
[09:53:27] <JT-Shop> right that's what I'm looking for but when I right click on the frame widget they are all grayed out and you can't select them
[09:54:06] <Lcvette> do you have something in it?
[09:55:36] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop: I think you need to add one widget to the frame before you can set the payout
[09:55:43] <hazzy-m> layout even
[09:57:01] <Lcvette> yes
[09:57:09] <Lcvette> you do
[09:57:34] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (15KB) < https://matrix.org >
[09:57:41] <Lcvette> i just maxde that
[09:58:06] <Lcvette> its a widget with three frames inside and buttons inside the frsme
[09:58:11] <Lcvette> start from the inside out
[09:58:22] <jt-m[m]> ok
[09:58:33] <Lcvette> laydow your widget
[09:58:39] <Lcvette> then your frames inside
[09:58:45] <Lcvette> then your items in your frames
[09:58:56] <Lcvette> then make the frames layout
[09:59:18] <Lcvette> then make the widget a horizontal layout
[09:59:33] <jt-m[m]> well hell, I forgot you have to add something to get layouts... nevermind the old guy behind the curtian
[09:59:49] <Lcvette> you can also put stuff in your frame and do grid layout and try if fits your needs
[10:00:20] <Lcvette> also you can use widgets inside widgets and you get no frame border
[10:01:24] <jt-m[m]> what do you mean by use widgets inside widgets?
[10:02:02] <Lcvette> wuse a qwidget instead of a frame
[10:02:07] <Lcvette> inside another qwidget box
[10:02:20] <Lcvette> frames tend to have borders you need to turn off
[10:02:39] <Lcvette> and always leave some form of screen line
[10:02:40] <Lcvette> a qwidget won't
[10:02:54] <jt-m[m]> I always have to turn the borders on for a frame
[10:03:25] * jt-m[m] is not figuring what what Lcvette means
[10:03:43] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (83KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:03:59] <Lcvette> widgets inside widgets
[10:04:14] <Lcvette> incestuous widgets
[10:04:19] <Lcvette> lol
[10:04:30] <Lcvette> russian nesting widgets
[10:04:38] <jt-m[m]> do you mean a widget container?
[10:04:45] <Lcvette> yes
[10:05:07] <jt-m[m]> ah ok, now I see... hazzy you need to add a widget lol
[10:05:07] <Lcvette> for me frames ALWAYS leave a mark
[10:05:17] <jt-m[m]> widget container
[10:06:08] <Lcvette> i really like using widgets because they basically are like formattable ghosts
[10:06:35] <Lcvette> a frame is designed to be a frame
[10:06:45] <Lcvette> so it starts life with a border
[10:07:07] <Lcvette> and for me even when all is turned off it still leaves a faint line on the gui
[10:09:56] * jt-m[m] just added a widget container with rules for Lcvette
[10:11:29] <Lcvette> hurray!!!!!
[10:11:53] <jt-m[m]> you will love being able to disable sections with rules
[10:12:16] <Lcvette> nice!
[10:12:58] <jt-m[m]> travis must be busy...
[10:13:17] <jt-m[m]> hazzy: nevermind I've added the widget container
[10:13:42] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton pushed 031 commit to 03master [+1/-0/±1] 13https://git.io/fjek5
[10:13:44] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07jethornton 039514bdc - ENH: add widget container with rules
[10:14:21] <silopolis[m]> Dunno IIUC the point here, but this discussion about grids and frames remembers me the old days of HTML <TABLE> based layouts era !
[10:14:25] <jt-m[m]> Lcvette: there you go!
[10:15:20] <silopolis[m]> Hopefully this belongs to the past :)
[10:15:21] <Lcvette> whoooohoo!
[10:15:33] * jt-m[m] heads out to the shop to work on the truck now that all is well
[10:16:35] <jt-m[m]> Lcvette: I have a tab to set tool offsets but it needed to be disabled if no tool was in the spindle and that's what started the frame with rules idea but now it elevated to widget with rules yippie!
[10:17:11] <Lcvette> lol
[10:17:12] <Lcvette> nice!!!
[10:17:57] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07KurtJacobson pushed 031 commit to 03gh-pages [+423/-0/±0] 13https://git.io/fjekp
[10:17:58] <Not-e6c6> [02qtpyvcp] 07traviscibot 0322f69ce - Deploy kcjengr/qtpyvcp to github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.git:gh-pages
[10:22:34] <Lcvette> turboss r u here?
[10:23:39] <TurBoss> eating
[10:24:14] <Lcvette> ok
[10:25:03] <Lcvette> i looked at the code again with fresh eyes and saw the changes to the rotation stuff.. it seams everything for rotation is for main rotation on global scale not individual scale
[10:25:56] <Lcvette> i was wondering if it needs an anchor to make rotation for the individual items
[10:27:00] <Lcvette> anyhow, need to go to town to get some meds and then get some packages together to go out but be back on in a bit
[10:27:16] <Lcvette> ill be mobile
[10:30:48] <silopolis[m]> What about a CNC panel with all QtPyVCP goodness on THIS https://www.youtube.com 😍
[10:34:03] <hazzy-m> silopolis: hohohoh, that would basicaly be a Celos control
[10:34:49] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (443KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:35:20] <hazzy-m> keypad is a touch screen too
[10:35:28] <hazzy-m> makes an oily mess
[10:35:53] <silopolis[m]> haha, thank you, now I know what's the name of this
[10:36:06] <silopolis[m]> only had seen it on pinterest with no links
[10:38:29] <silopolis[m]> First thought touch keypad was ool for cleaning, but then felt incomfortable about unwanted keypress
[10:39:19] <silopolis[m]> and now that you say it, oil lube on the glass may not be that great :/
[10:40:20] <silopolis[m]> now I target similar setup to the left one
[10:40:58] <silopolis[m]> but struggle to determine what type of keys would be best
[10:42:00] * TurBoss uploaded an image: image.png (329KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:42:07] <silopolis[m]> would like it to be water/oil proof, super easy to clean, with tactile return
[10:42:39] <silopolis[m]> TurBoss: oh my 😍😍😍
[10:43:00] <TurBoss> https://es.dmgmori.com
[10:44:01] <TurBoss> HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530
[10:44:35] <silopolis[m]> Definitely want to build something like this running LinuxCNC
[10:44:46] <TurBoss> Great
[10:45:19] <TurBoss> Lcvette: I'm back
[11:00:09] <TurBoss> hazzy: I have a issue with the on_pocket_prepped signal
[11:01:42] <TurBoss> T1 - T6 gives 1 - 6 but T8 gives 7 while there is a space in 7
[11:03:49] * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[11:05:17] <silopolis[m]> If you know/find other nice/interesting/innovative controls or panels, please share :)
[11:05:27] <TurBoss> sure
[11:05:53] <TurBoss> heindhain is very good control interface
[11:05:58] <TurBoss> not cheap
[11:09:32] <silopolis[m]> But you guys are building the best one because your filling the UI gap in the FOSS CNC world 😎
[11:09:50] <TurBoss> :)
[11:10:06] <TurBoss> Probe basic is really nice
[11:10:26] <TurBoss> have you se mine?
[11:10:44] <TurBoss> https://github.com
[11:17:38] <silopolis[m]> Yes I have. A good one for sure 👍🏿
[11:18:04] <TurBoss> thanks!
[11:18:13] <TurBoss> minimal featured
[11:18:44] <silopolis[m]> its main strength
[11:21:11] <silopolis[m]> Another question comes back to my mind... Could a QtPyVCP UI be integrated somehow with another Qt app ? (yeah FreeCAD, I'm looking at you !)
[11:21:44] <TurBoss> not sure..
[11:47:31] <TurBoss> so there is no way to retreive the pocket stored in the tool table?
[11:50:39] <hazzy-m> silopolis: with regard to the Celos controlls ...
[11:50:41] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (472KB) < https://matrix.org >
[11:50:45] <hazzy-m> lol
[11:51:19] <silopolis[m]> :D
[11:51:23] <TurBoss> lol
[11:52:01] <TurBoss> http://linuxcnc.org found this
[11:52:08] <TurBoss> should the sim use it?
[11:53:07] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: I'm not sure how the tool change stuff works, it all seems very confusing
[11:53:31] <silopolis[m]> So, let's try to make something better kick the big boys in the back ;)
[11:53:34] <TurBoss> I can't figure how to get the pocket number from a given tool
[11:53:44] <hazzy-m> I think the pocket_prepped number being wrong is a known bug in LCNC
[11:53:51] <TurBoss> nono
[11:53:53] <TurBoss> its ok
[11:54:00] <hazzy-m> I think rene has a PR fixing it
[11:54:01] <TurBoss> it skips empty slots
[11:54:27] <TurBoss> 1, 2, 3, 6
[11:54:27] <TurBoss> 1, 2, 3, 4
[11:57:51] <TurBoss> https://github.com
[11:57:53] <TurBoss> just commentd
[12:09:59] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: did you see this?
[12:10:00] <hazzy-m> https://github.com
[12:10:11] <hazzy-m> looks like what we need ...
[12:10:54] <TurBoss> i din't pay much attention
[12:11:22] <TurBoss> so we need that merged?=
[12:11:29] <hazzy-m> yes
