[00:43:00] <hazzy-m> here is the vid of the first one, a 5 gal bucket suspended with bungy coords and and motor bolted to the bottom, it kinda worked but makes a mess when one the the bungies breaks LOL

[00:53:48] <pcw_home> A cheap ebay video card fixed the GLX error with VTK on my old PC
[00:56:08] <pcw_home> but I get no backplot on some files (and a no color attribute error pop-up)
[01:11:40] <hazzy-m> pcw_home: Hurray! Do you mind posting the files that cuase problems?
[01:18:56] <pcw_home> http://freeby.mesanet.com
[01:23:09] <hazzy-m> thanks
[01:24:09] <hazzy-m> wow, that is big part
[02:11:00] <Lcvette> hazzy sublime says theres a new version do i install or no?
[02:11:47] <TurBoss> no
[02:11:54] <TurBoss> install atom instead
[02:11:55] <Lcvette> ok
[02:11:55] <TurBoss> :P
[02:12:11] <Lcvette> i don't know atom
[02:12:16] <TurBoss> like sublime...
[02:12:19] <TurBoss> not much
[02:12:49] <Lcvette> is that how you did the cvolor match?

[02:13:33] <Lcvette> dunno
[02:13:44] <Lcvette> the gray nbackground on the atc you discovered
[02:13:51] <TurBoss> yes using gpick
[02:13:58] <Lcvette> whast sthat
[02:14:12] <TurBoss> allows yo to capture colors on the screen
[02:14:32] <Lcvette> sudo apt install gpick
[02:14:34] <Lcvette> ?
[02:14:48] <TurBoss> yea
[02:15:13] <Lcvette> hurray
[02:17:14] <Lcvette> thats awesome sauce
[06:01:35] <jt-m[m]> morning
[06:21:53] <silopolis[m]> Morning 🙂
[06:23:22] <jthornton> morning
[07:55:37] <TurBoss> morning
[08:00:16] <jthornton> Lcvette: must be sleeping in
[09:31:46] <Lcvette> morning
[09:32:09] <Lcvette> lcvette's allergies are starting to kick

[10:27:48] <hazzy-m> JT-Shop2: thanks for the spliter vids. That thing is a beast!
[10:28:44] -!- JT-Shop2 has quit [Client Quit]
[10:31:42] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: http://leviltechnology.com
[10:44:58] <Lcvette> https://us.syil.com
[10:45:55] <Lcvette> the budget package is pc based and you can request it be done for linuxcnc
[10:46:04] <Lcvette> way more machine
[10:46:19] <Lcvette> price includes import taxes and shipping
[10:46:39] <Lcvette> has servos and 10k rpm spindle
[10:49:11] <Lcvette> roguish: that is way more than the levil
[10:49:38] <Lcvette> and it puts you in the linuxcnc upgrade zone which you would be comfortable with
[10:51:06] <silopolis[m]> @hazzy:matrix.org: make it extreme is The Beast!
[10:56:22] <hazzy-m> I have an uncle in Steelville MO that has a completely automated firewood processing machine, you just load up to 12ft logs onto the ramp and it cuts them to length, splits and stacks them in the dump trailer
[10:56:47] <hazzy-m> it has a 6 way and a 12 way spliter that slides into place depending on the size of the log
[10:59:21] <hazzy-m> it cuts to length and then feeds thru the splitter with a guillotine. it not the neatest split wood, but its fast
[11:13:23] <Lcvette> roguish: https://www.youtube.com
[11:20:26] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: thanks. i think ii'll call em and see.
[11:20:57] <Lcvette> for the budget setup it looks like a pretty decent deal
[11:21:11] <Lcvette> if you need small footprint
[11:21:24] <Lcvette> if you don't the same money could put you in a used vmc
[11:21:44] <Lcvette> but if those are constraints its a really good alternative and its a beefy machine
[11:21:50] <Lcvette> all cast iron
[11:21:57] <Lcvette> almost 3k lbs
[11:22:16] <Lcvette> its a tool not a toy
[11:23:12] <Lcvette> and the fact they are willing to work with customers to customize the interface for linuxcnc is a pretty big plus!

[11:49:47] <roguish[m]> just watched a couple syil x7 videos. very nice. might be a budget stretch, but could be worth it.
[11:49:48] <roguish[m]> thanks again for the lead.
[12:03:19] -!- Lcvette has joined #hazzy
[12:03:20] <Lcvette> yeah sometimes what seems like a budget stretch initially is in the end an asset investment you are glad you made
[12:03:33] <Lcvette> in a case like this where you are in business
[12:04:20] <Lcvette> a good machine that can make parts to a decent tolerance and square and parallel can be the difference in having confidence in your own product and not which is very important
[12:05:20] <Lcvette> a smaller machine like a G0704 can get you there eventually but you'll have soo much time wrapped up in it and in the end it will never be a true b usiness machine and will always need attention
[12:11:20] <Lcvette> the worst feeling is realizing you're over half the way to what the better machine would have cost and far from finished with a machine that can't hope to perform half as well.
[12:12:20] <roguish[m]> time ===== $$$$$
[12:12:40] <Lcvette> and wasted time eqwuals resentment
[12:13:09] <Lcvette> had there been an x7 10 years ago, it would have been a no brainer

[12:18:52] <Lcvette> also, the tooling I got BT30, is really very good quality and i can send the suppliers information, I get the holders for $10.00/pc
[12:19:20] <Lcvette> my buddy clint has been running them in production for 2 years now
[12:19:37] <Lcvette> they are great
[12:19:37] <roguish[m]> I do like that it has 'real' holders. not just R8
[12:20:05] <Lcvette> that is a very big deal
[12:20:37] <Lcvette> tts will bite you eventually
[12:20:40] <Lcvette> happens to everyone
[12:22:18] <roguish[m]> think I could find a used one?
[12:23:03] <Lcvette> ive never seen one
[12:29:06] <Lcvette> roguish: https://www.instagram.com
[12:29:16] <Lcvette> beautifule holders for $10
[12:37:51] -!- JT-Shop2 has joined #hazzy
[12:51:19] <JT[m]1> hazzy: I also uploaded them to putube https://www.youtube.com and https://www.youtube.com
[12:55:47] <Lcvette> https://www.youtube.com
[12:55:58] <Lcvette> this came on right after
[12:56:08] <jthornton> hazzy-m: I've been through Steelville a few times IIRC it has two stop signs...
[12:56:45] <jthornton> we drive through there to get to Swiss Mo to get brats
[12:56:46] <Lcvette> that rotary chopper is pretty impressive and yet terrifying
[14:41:06] <Lcvette> has anyone tried the lenovo USFF M92P Core i5 tiny pc's with a mesa ethernet card?
[14:43:42] <Lcvette> pcw_home?
[14:44:02] <Lcvette> jthornton: ?
[14:44:15] <jthornton> not me
[14:44:35] <Lcvette> they are tiny
[14:47:31] <jthornton> if it has a real NIC it might work but if it's like the rpi with a usb nic it won't
[14:51:32] <pcw_home> Look similar to a HP 8300 which works well with LinuxCNC (after you disable Intels Ethernet Spyware)
[14:52:53] <Lcvette> nice!
[14:52:56] <Lcvette> i may grab one
[14:53:02] <pcw_home> so on the 8300 you need to disable AMT in the BIOS and also disable IRQ coalescing with ethtool
[14:53:25] <Lcvette> is that hard to do?
[14:53:32] <pcw_home> (the 8300 has a Intel MAC so needs the IRQ tweak)
[14:54:13] <pcw_home> AMT was a surprise (its a common BIOS option in off lease corporate PCs)
[14:55:19] <pcw_home> the ethtool stuff is trivial (but not needed for Realtek MACs)
[14:55:28] <Lcvette> oh wait, i have a 6i25, probably not gonna work
[14:55:31] <Lcvette> duh
[14:55:50] <pcw_home> no slots in USFF PCs...
[14:56:32] <pcw_home> a 7I92 is a Ethernet equiv of a 6I25
[14:56:49] <Lcvette> yup
[14:56:55] <Lcvette> i have one on my big machine
[14:57:03] <Lcvette> was just looking it up
[14:57:24] <Lcvette> but i think with the lathe i may be better to go with a stand alkong board
[14:57:31] <Lcvette> alone
[14:58:12] <Lcvette> the cabinet is already wired and built and the spaces is setup for a single mesa already
[17:17:42] <Lcvette> What's crackin?
[17:18:05] <Lcvette> Hazzy, how's your impeller project?
[18:24:04] <Lcvette> wife and i were talking about jthornton 's pizza and decided we were going to make pizza today, but instead we started talking about pizza from when we were kids and we both mentioned chef boyarddi box pizza our moms used to make
[18:24:41] <Lcvette> so we looked and sure enough 35 years later they are still making it and we decided to buy a box and see if it was the same as we remembered
[18:24:44] <Lcvette> IT WAS!!!!
[18:24:49] <Lcvette> it was fantastic
[18:24:51] <Lcvette> lol
[18:26:13] <hazzy-m> LOL bring back memories?
[18:26:24] <Lcvette> YES!!
[18:30:33] <hazzy-m> I was gone all morning so my crazy neighor took the opertunity to escape in the sprite with out me knowing once again
[18:30:56] <hazzy-m> at least this time the engine had all the parts on it ...
[18:31:09] <hazzy-m> but she broke down 60 miles from home LOL
[18:31:26] <Lcvette> let her get another mechanic
[18:31:50] <Lcvette> sounds like she needs to pay for the dumb shit she does to learn
[18:31:59] <hazzy-m> she needs a full time mechanic LOL
[18:34:15] <Lcvette> she needs a new car with a warranty
[19:10:54] <hazzy-m> She doesn't like new cars. She sold the Volvo a few months ago that her husband had bought just before he died because it was 'too new fangled' and got an 88 Accord instead lol
[19:11:36] <Lcvette> that sounds .....
[19:11:38] <hazzy-m> She likes the Accord but complains about it having and automatic transmission
[19:11:45] <Lcvette> crazy neighborish
[19:12:06] <hazzy-m> I'm telling you she is legit bat shit crazy
[19:12:16] <Lcvette> sounds it
[19:12:18] <Lcvette> lol
[19:12:47] <Lcvette> how did your impeller casting turn out?
[19:12:53] <Lcvette> what was it an impeller for?
[19:13:20] <hazzy-m> a fan for an oil burner
[19:13:52] <hazzy-m> ran out of time tocast it, had to trouble shoot a check engine light instead :(
[19:14:18] <Lcvette> was it there?
[19:15:10] <hazzy-m> what where? lol
[19:15:26] <Lcvette> the engine, was it there?
[19:15:56] <hazzy-m> ah, yes. somebody stopped by to get it checked out
[19:16:11] <Lcvette> then you checked it!
[19:16:13] <Lcvette> etape the light and roll on
[19:16:14] <Lcvette> lol
[19:16:36] <hazzy-m> I don't have room for all my casting stuff so its at a freinds auto shop, but it is about 60 miles west of here so kinda a pain to go out there
[19:17:23] <hazzy-m> the light went off while we were trying to read the code LOL
[19:17:36] <Lcvette> beautiful
[19:17:41] <Lcvette> lol
[19:22:32] * jthornton is still trying to figure out how the TCCM comes out of the truck, it is blocked by a steel part of the dash...
[19:23:22] <jthornton> had a good meal at Red Beards in Van Buren today
[19:23:31] * hazzy-m is soda blasting heads
[19:23:43] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: IMG_20190316_175445010.jpg (124KB) < https://matrix.org >
[19:23:55] * hazzy-m uploaded an image: IMG_20190316_192114478.jpg (96KB) < https://matrix.org >
[19:24:06] <hazzy-m> cleaned up prettygood
[19:24:56] <jthornton> I've never used soda to blast with, is that a VW head?
[19:25:35] <hazzy-m> works great! Much faster then sand blasting on these heads, and less chance of damage
[19:25:49] <hazzy-m> corvair heads
[19:26:12] <jthornton> I was close didn't see the third cylinder :)
[19:26:32] <jthornton> does soda use the same nozzle etc as coal?
[19:27:00] <hazzy-m> pics made it tricky :)
[19:27:06] <Lcvette> hazzy needs to put those in the mill and countour those chambers
[19:27:34] <jthornton> the slot between the cylinders through me curve so a VW was just a WAG
[19:28:00] <hazzy-m> are VW heads seperate?
[19:28:04] <jthornton> but I knew it was a jug type of air cooled engine lol
[19:28:11] <hazzy-m> Iknow porche heads are
[19:28:29] <jthornton> no slot between them, single head for both cylinders
[19:28:47] <jthornton> man, I've put together a bunch of VW engines lol
[19:30:29] <roguish[m]> saw a little VW Baja bug go by this morning on my ride, then a little later, a Mcclaren
[19:31:01] <roguish[m]> not sure which would be more fun....
[19:31:22] <jthornton> I put a baja kit on my 67, I could pull the engine without any jack just grab the intake manifolds and yank it out lol
[19:32:07] <jthornton> but I was a lot younger then than now...
[19:32:13] <roguish[m]> downloading linuxmint 19.1 to do a simple, vanilla install.
[19:32:34] <roguish[m]> weren't we all.... rolf
[19:32:41] <jthornton> should be pretty easy
[19:33:03] <roguish[m]> following your instructions.
[19:33:40] <jthornton> https://www.tripadvisor.com
[19:33:52] <jthornton> inside is much nicer than the outside...
[20:01:56] <Lcvette> Watching Aquaman
[20:03:03] * jthornton has an Aquaman PEZ dispenser
[20:05:31] <Lcvette> Lcvette loves comic movies
[20:05:45] <Lcvette> Marvel DC
[20:05:50] <Lcvette> Doesn't matter
[20:05:54] <Lcvette> Love them all
[20:10:13] <JT[m]1> wife went to the pre-release private screening of Aquaman and brought me home an Aquaman PEZ dispenser lol... I had so much fun I order a pound of grape PEZ from amazon lol
[20:12:18] <Lcvette> Nice!!!
[20:12:33] <Lcvette> You didn't go?
[20:12:54] <JT[m]1> I've never had a PEZ despenser...
[20:13:01] <JT[m]1> no, I'm not a movie fan
[20:13:36] <Lcvette> I'm a movie at home fan
[20:14:50] <Lcvette> Told the wife instead of spending $70 every time we go to the movies, instead I'll invest in a home entertainment system..lol
[20:15:37] <Lcvette> So we have a 70" TV with Harmon kardon 7.1 surround built into the house
[20:16:47] <JT[m]1> I like watching old movies like The Sand Pebbles...
[20:17:52] <JT[m]1> starred Candice Bergen and Steve McQueen
[20:19:24] <Lcvette> Oldies are good too
[20:19:27] <Lcvette> Even better on the big screen tv
[20:19:32] <Lcvette> :D
[20:19:49] <JT[m]1> aye
[20:20:46] <JT[m]1> I just got rid of the big projection tv and got a nice wall mount one, we have an extra 1/2 acre of space in the living room now lol
[20:22:10] <Lcvette> What size wall mount?
[20:23:52] <JT[m]1> 60"
[20:24:02] <Lcvette> Nice!!!
[20:24:08] <Lcvette> Sorting spine?
[20:24:23] <Lcvette> Surround sound?
[20:25:19] <JT[m]1> no, but I wired the house for it if I ever want to have it
[20:25:37] <JT[m]1> we built the house ourselves...
[20:25:39] <Lcvette> Do it
[20:27:02] <JT[m]1> I even have some speakers lol but never put them up... we are happy with std sound
[20:31:57] <jthornton> 3 minutes till chicken door closing time
[20:37:23] <jthornton> door down and locked, ir light off... time for me to retire
[20:46:09] <hazzy-m> Hohoho, I haven't had a PEZ despenser in ages
[20:54:49] * hazzy-m just sold 4 stick pointer caps for a Dell Inspiron 7500 lol
[20:55:53] <hazzy-m> when I listed them I though nobody it going to pay 10 bux for these
[23:25:21] <Lcvette> I don't know what that is
