[10:04:58] <hazzy-m> o/
[10:05:58] <Lcvette> lcvette needs to settle on a pc today
[10:06:25] <hazzy-m> getting a new one?
[10:06:53] <Lcvette> need to replace the crummy amd system for the lathe
[10:27:09] <roguish[m]> JT: hey JT. quick question, please. I'm trying a Linux Mint 19.1 install, following your instructions. when I get the 'make' part, it whines about a couple of missing lib files. goes by to fast to see exactly which ones. Is this going to mess up the install? should I do a quick control C or Q or something and stop it to see which files, and then install them, and 'make' again? probably answered my own
[10:27:09] <roguish[m]> question..... what ya think?
[10:34:21] <roguish[m]> yeah, just did that. installed libelf-dev, and started the make again. no warnings this time..... thanks for the ear....
[10:38:25] <Lcvette> hazzy: this always pops up when i boot the system and i always wondered about it
[10:38:30] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[10:39:39] <Lcvette> its always in red letters on the startup screen and says warning
[10:39:59] <hazzy-m> I would try not to wory about it lol
[10:40:05] <Lcvette> since ive been experiencing wierd freezing /locking issues wondering if this could be part of it
[10:43:38] <Lcvette> here it says its "Faking" a node
[10:43:40] <roguish[m]> Lcvette. try disabling ACPI in the BIOS. and shut down every power saving thing you can find.
[10:43:42] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[10:44:34] <roguish[m]> no screen savers, no hibernate, no nothing. .....
[10:45:08] <Lcvette> this isn't on a machine though
[10:45:15] <Lcvette> its a work station in my office
[10:45:41] <roguish[m]> ooooops.
[10:46:11] <Lcvette> lol.. rather keep the power saving features as its a home office
[10:47:56] <JT[m]1> Roguish I'm at a factory
[10:48:29] <roguish[m]> JT: no problem. it's in the 'make' now....
[10:49:09] <JT[m]1> Ok
[14:19:28] <Lcvette> hazzy: is there any issue with using a 6i25 with the preempt rt kernel?
[14:25:20] <TurBoss> Lcvette: 6i25 preempt rt kernel here
[14:25:35] <TurBoss> works like a charm
[14:25:52] <Lcvette> great!
[14:34:22] <Lcvette> turboss, do you ssd stuff?
[14:34:29] <TurBoss> yes
[14:34:34] <TurBoss> use?¿
[14:35:15] <Lcvette> im a bit confused on whether a motherboard have can used a pcie adapter with an m.2 ssd
[14:35:58] <Lcvette> https://www.asrock.com
[14:36:00] <Lcvette> this is my motherboard
[14:36:25] <TurBoss> no experience with m2
[14:36:39] <Lcvette> me either
[14:37:32] <TurBoss> just regular sata ones
[14:37:44] <Lcvette> yup same here
[14:37:47] <TurBoss> normally motherboards come with m2 socket
[14:38:15] <Lcvette> yup
[14:38:22] <Lcvette> but they make adapters for them too
[14:38:31] <TurBoss> so no idea about adaptora
[14:38:45] <TurBoss> adapters
[14:41:57] <Lcvette> https://www.amazon.com
[14:46:16] <TurBoss> looks oks
[14:46:42] <Lcvette> \o/
[15:13:54] <Lcvette> what im trying to accomplish is figure out how to shrink the foot print needed for the total pc installationm so having the ssd on the mobo helps alot
[16:21:58] <Lcvette> hazzy:
[16:22:00] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[16:22:23] <Lcvette> got that when i hit cycle start on the qtpyvcp program in probe basic

[16:25:28] <TurBoss> notification popups fail somethimes here too
[16:25:41] <JT[m]1> is there any way to turn that off? it goes off from time to time...
[16:26:00] <TurBoss> something with dbus
[16:26:29] <TurBoss> ``` The name :1.91 was not provided by any .service files
[16:26:33] <TurBoss> ```
[16:26:34] <TurBoss> The name :1.91 was not provided by any .service files
[16:27:07] <TurBoss> or something from qtpyvcp not generating the name correctly... duno

[16:53:25] <TurBoss> cool!
[16:53:28] <Lcvette> for the lathe
[16:53:37] <Lcvette> i'll just use sata
[16:54:26] <TurBoss> its fine
[16:54:58] <Lcvette> its good latency
[16:54:59] <Lcvette> only like 3000
[16:55:04] <Lcvette> :O
[16:55:07] <Lcvette> \o/
[16:55:14] <Lcvette> for servos
[16:55:21] <Lcvette> did you get your servos going?
[16:55:56] <TurBoss> no servos here
[16:56:04] <TurBoss> just nema 23 steppers
[16:56:15] <TurBoss> mine is small router
[16:57:16] <Lcvette> thought you got free servos
[17:01:54] <TurBoss> still nedd drivers
[17:26:02] <Lcvette> TurBoss: can i put the 6i25 on that mobo?
[17:26:18] <TurBoss> yes why not?
[17:26:31] <Lcvette> i get confused with PCI slits
[17:26:39] <Lcvette> it doesn't have the small one
[17:27:47] <Lcvette> https://www.asrock.com
[17:29:04] * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (1373KB) < https://matrix.org >
[17:29:39] <Lcvette> i thought someone said you can put the small one in a big one but i don't know which is ok
[18:10:18] <JT[m]1> yea a small pci card fits in a long slot
[18:10:30] <JT[m]1> looks like a few I have
[18:40:27] * TurBoss is back
[19:31:38] <TurBoss> hazzy: any way to do this more integrated?
[19:31:51] * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[19:38:05] <TurBoss> cool I found the issu
[19:38:06] <TurBoss> e
[20:14:16] * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[20:18:39] <TurBoss> it doesn't work :D
[20:24:37] <Lcvette> JT: you have some of these ASRock H97M Pro4's too?
[20:25:07] <Lcvette> TurBoss: tubross is here!
[20:25:09] <Lcvette> \o/
[20:28:26] <Lcvette> turboss, i wonder if the stdglue file is the issue
[20:28:44] <Lcvette> is that what you are working in?
[20:30:18] <Lcvette> i noticed that diring loading, the remap seems to favor loading backwards, not sure why this is?
[20:30:29] <Lcvette> but the qml loads fwds
[20:30:54] <Lcvette> so the tools end up being out of phase from the remap and the qml
[20:31:20] <Lcvette> it may be that the remap is setup for the tools to be ascending in the ccw direction
[20:31:31] <Lcvette> that may be an iotem that needs to be customizable
[20:32:13] <Lcvette> or just have two seperate remap macro files for cw ascending pocket count and ccw ascending pocket count
[20:34:17] <Lcvette> so right now we have the qml, the macros and the sim to make sure are all synched
[20:35:00] <Lcvette> and i don't know if my buddy clint "adjusted the remaps when he set them up for our machines
[20:56:55] <JT[m]1> Lcvette: yea I have a couple of them at least
[21:00:10] <Lcvette> they are good for latency
[21:23:50] <Lcvette> TurBoss: TurBoss I got a message about tool change in renedevs pocket fix
[21:24:15] <TurBoss> what!
[21:24:18] <TurBoss> ?
