[00:47:58] <Lcvette> thanks!! fixed and working!
[00:48:00] <Lcvette> :D
[01:01:46] <Lcvette> hazzy: not sure of the input boxes are connected to the probing page or not, they don't seem to be pulling the data into the probe subroutine like they should. also they don't appear to be persistent upon closing probe basic if a change is made
[01:02:11] <Lcvette> but i think other than that I could start building and testing maybe
[01:03:58] <Lcvette> if you would please pull my branch and have a look, run a test, the probe trigger button is on the custom tab. i am not going to leave the vtk there it is only for my own testing and building of subroutines so i asked turboss to keep mine seperate from you guys for now
[01:04:21] <Lcvette> unless you plan on merging the atc branch in which case i would want to merge too and would fix the probe page when done
[01:04:37] <Lcvette> had i thought about it i would have added a testing tab page btu i didn't

[10:12:13] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: you don't want to merge you changes to master?
[10:15:35] <Lcvette> i was going to just use this as a build platform for the subroutines
[10:16:58] <Lcvette> hazzy: would take some major reformatting to have that vtk window in each of the probing tab pages
[10:17:29] <Lcvette> currently im working on something and depending how it turns out, maybe merge but not sure yet
[10:17:50] <Lcvette> not sure if the probe page needs a plot
[10:18:07] <Lcvette> unless its for building custom routines
[10:25:29] <hazzy-m> ok, well I think you should use a diffrent branch name, then you can decide to merge later or not, but you will still have master you can checkout if needed
[10:25:46] <Lcvette> ok
[10:28:55] <Lcvette> hows that look?

[11:35:13] <JT[m]1> no underground work?
[11:35:18] <Lcvette> i setup the probe routine builder
[11:35:29] <Lcvette> much better layout
[11:35:47] <hazzy-m> Nice!
[11:35:50] <Lcvette> its in the probe subs main tab now
[11:36:14] <hazzy-m> I think the VTK should stay on the probing page, very usefull to see what is hapening
[11:36:32] <JT[m]1> something odd has happened to the vtk machine bountry it's somewhat missing in places and dots in others...
[11:37:44] <hazzy-m> hmmm
[11:37:55] <hazzy-m> Lcvette: what about the inch conversion on the ATC_Remap?
[11:38:13] <Lcvette> hazzy: i think you may be right on the vtk
[11:38:13] <hazzy-m> SHould I try to merge ATCto master or wait for you to finish that?
[11:38:41] <Lcvette> need to find a way to not have to make 9 vtks though and not lose my tabs
[11:38:41] <hazzy-m> really digging the way the prope page looks!
[11:38:42] <Lcvette> any thoughts?
[11:39:06] <Lcvette> the inche conversion is good except the vismach model i think is built in metric
[11:39:27] <Lcvette> it works and runs but the vismach movements are very small
[11:39:39] <hazzy-m> Ok, are they seperate ish? ok to merge as it is?
[11:40:01] <Lcvette> it is moving in its native units still i think
[11:40:02] <Lcvette> yes
[11:40:23] <Lcvette> i just made files and added _inch to the ends of the ones needed to make it work

[11:56:05] <hazzy-m> You could do what JT does and use a stacked widget on the left with the probe buttons in them, and use a button bar across the top to change which layer of the stack to show, and then you could use one VTK for them all
[11:57:11] <hazzy-m> did you get to try out the merged branch?
[11:58:02] <Lcvette> which?
[11:58:02] <Lcvette> atc?
[11:58:14] <Lcvette> let me look now

[11:58:26] <hazzy-m> thanks!
[12:13:24] <Lcvette> hazzy: made a few tweaks
[12:13:46] <Lcvette> not sure if they were from oversights on my end or from the merge but they are fixed, think its good now

[12:13:58] <Lcvette> :D
[12:16:28] <hazzy-m> Hurray!!!!

[12:56:26] <Lcvette> stacked widget master
[12:56:27] <Lcvette> ?
[13:03:55] <JT[m]1> from a tab to stacked widget?
[13:03:58] <JT[m]1> what does right click say?
[13:04:12] <Lcvette> i figured it out
[13:04:16] <Lcvette> you can
[13:04:37] <Lcvette> it changes the tabs to a small set of almost invisible arrows to scroll
[13:04:47] <JT[m]1> did you figure out my buttons?
[13:04:52] <Lcvette> but im not gonna do the stacked widget

[13:05:15] <JT[m]1> the invisible arrows go away when you run it
[13:05:20] <Lcvette> and i prefer the tabs
[13:05:41] <Lcvette> flows with the existing gui styling in place

[14:46:17] <Lcvette> they are supposed to be persistent
[14:46:50] <Lcvette> also i can't remember but i think they are supposed to be pulled into the ngc files is that correct?
[14:47:04] <Lcvette> need a refresher on how that is setup
[15:00:44] <hazzy-m> thats a lot of VTK widgets ...

[15:08:56] <Lcvette> for it to work

[17:24:43] <Lcvette> lbl?
[17:26:05] <Lcvette> JT: if you are setting existing its supposed to be L20 if setting from a input, should be L2
[17:27:11] <JT-Shop> that does not make sense
[17:27:38] <Lcvette> sorry
[17:27:43] <JT-Shop> G10 L20 is similar to G10 L2 except that instead of setting the offset/entry to the given value, it is set to a calculated value that
[17:27:44] <JT-Shop> makes the current coordinates become the given value.
[17:27:45] <Lcvette> shoveling chinese food and typing..lol
[17:28:23] <Lcvette> L2 sets to a given value right?
[17:28:33] <Lcvette> input
[17:28:45] <Lcvette> ie entry box
[17:28:53] <JT-Shop> l2 sets to the value of the axis word
[17:28:56] <Lcvette> L20 sets the current coordinate position
[17:29:05] <JT-Shop> where it comes from is not relevant
[17:29:29] <Lcvette> ok
[17:30:22] <JT-Shop> so no matter where you are if you say g10 l20 x0 that spot your at becomes x0
[17:30:43] <JT-Shop> if you say g10 l2 x0 then the offset is set to 0 ie none
[17:31:19] <Lcvette> ```
[17:31:20] <Lcvette> G10 L2 P(1-9) - Set offset(s) to a value. Current position irrelevant. (see G10 L2 for details)
[17:31:20] <Lcvette> G10 L20 P(1-9) - Set offset(s) so current position becomes a value. (see G10 L20 for details)

[17:34:35] <JT-Shop> well it's not correct because it's P(0-9)
[17:34:47] <Lcvette> i interperet as L20 sets the value to the current position
[17:35:08] <Lcvette> and L20 sets the value to a give position you enter
[17:35:40] <JT-Shop> l2 does not take the current position into account
[17:36:06] <Lcvette> no, it is an overwrite of the entered position
[17:36:09] <Lcvette> absolute
[17:36:15] <JT-Shop> l20 sets the value based on a calculation to make the current position the value
[17:36:19] <Lcvette> if you say x is 4, x is 4
[17:36:27] <Lcvette> correct
[17:36:36] <JT-Shop> for l2 or l20?

[19:37:15] <Lcvette> no
[19:37:18] <Lcvette> wait
[19:37:20] <Lcvette> may be an issuye
[19:38:00] <JT[m]1> the BP is using an installed QtPyVCP
[19:38:18] <JT[m]1> so I have to do a pip update
[19:38:27] <Lcvette> now it is showing the origin wherever the tool tip is regardless of what offset if selected and where the offset coordinates are
[19:38:58] * JT[m]1 ponders how he want's to handle tool offsets on the BP

[19:44:11] <Lcvette> TurBoss: see the two images
[19:44:53] <Lcvette> one is G54 and shows correct, origin is at 0,0,0 the other is at G56 but has not been zeroed and should still be at machine zero origin
[19:45:14] <Lcvette> somehow it needs to know what offset is active?
[19:45:35] <Lcvette> JT: in what sense?
[19:46:00] <Lcvette> "* JT ponders how he want's to handle tool offsets on the BP"
[19:47:41] <JT[m]1> well I have a kwik switch spindle so I can preset my tools but I seldom do more than one tool... but for this job I want to make I need two tools so I need to setup similar to my lathe and touch off to fixture each tool then touch off one to the material z
[19:48:20] <JT[m]1> clips to hold cattle panel to raised bed planter lol
[19:49:38] <Lcvette> repeatable holders?
[19:50:01] <JT[m]1> yea
[19:50:25] <Lcvette> do you have a shortage of holders?
[19:50:41] <Lcvette> ie need to reuse holders for different tools?
[19:50:47] <JT[m]1> define shortage lol
[19:51:19] <JT[m]1> yea I have maybe 10 of each size as well as some fixed diameter holders
[19:51:42] <Lcvette> so you can set up a bunch of tools
[19:52:02] <JT[m]1> I usually keep a 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" collet in a holder
[19:52:24] <JT[m]1> so I just put the tool in and set the g54 offset usually
[19:52:30] <Lcvette> have a probe?
[19:52:45] <JT[m]1> yea but it's not that great
[19:53:57] <Lcvette> if you can setup your tools in advance it makes machining alot easier
[19:54:28] <Lcvette> so all you have to do is touch off with the probe and all your tooling is ready
[19:54:52] <Lcvette> thats how i do all my stuff
[19:54:53] -!- jthornton has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]

[19:55:32] -!- JT-Shop2 has joined #hazzy
[19:55:39] <Lcvette> even if you have to add a tool or two for a job it is much eaier than having to do all of them
[19:56:27] <Lcvette> can use the master tool method
[19:56:32] <TurBoss> > so all you have to do is touch off with the probe and all your tooling is ready
[19:56:32] <TurBoss> 👍
[19:56:52] <Lcvette> yeah thats my preferred method turboss
[19:57:01] <Lcvette> can't be beat
[19:57:08] <JT[m]1> I don't have a tool probe just a normal one
[19:57:19] <Lcvette> not a tool probe a touch probe
[19:57:27] <Lcvette> for part corner finding etc
[19:58:02] <JT[m]1> don't need that I set Y with a edge finder and use a dowel for X and Z
[19:58:14] <JT[m]1> quick and simple
[19:58:44] <JT[m]1> chow time here...
[19:59:00] <Lcvette> the probe becomes the master tool
[19:59:08] <Lcvette> it isn't just finding the part origin
[19:59:32] <Lcvette> it is also setting the height offsets for all the other tooling that is already setup
[19:59:46] <Lcvette> so you only have to put the probe in hit onhe button, find a corner and then start machining
[20:00:04] <Lcvette> your method might be quick and simple but not as quick and simple as that..lol
[20:00:50] <Lcvette> probe I have is very affordable, only $130 and it is good for 0.0002" all day long
[20:01:58] <Lcvette> TurBoss: any thoughts on the offset thing?
[20:05:51] <Lcvette> TurBoss: wait... think there is an issue elsewhere
[20:06:26] <Lcvette> with G43 applied shouldn't Z 0 be the tool tip anyhow?
[20:18:15] <Lcvette> yeah something is still not working right
[20:18:31] <Lcvette> origin should shift with G5x offset change
[20:18:34] <Lcvette> but it does not
[20:18:59] <Lcvette> but i think its a repaint issue
[20:19:09] <Lcvette> if you click in the backplot it moves
[20:19:14] <Lcvette> how can that be fixed?
[20:19:32] <Lcvette> turboss?
[20:19:42] <Lcvette> same issue with the grid on off button
[20:20:12] <Lcvette> the machine and program boundary buttons don't seem to have that problem though
[20:20:29] <Lcvette> maybe there is a hint in those code sections
[20:20:31] <Lcvette> :D
[20:21:32] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[20:21:46] <Lcvette> top is the grid bottom section is the boundary one
[20:21:53] <Lcvette> has an update render thing on the boittom
[20:21:55] <Lcvette> ?
[20:23:22] <TurBoss> sorry I should go bed
[20:23:25] <TurBoss> :D
[20:23:33] <Lcvette> go to bed
[20:23:34] <Lcvette> get some sleep
[20:24:56] <JT[m]1> link?
[20:27:40] <Lcvette> https://drewtronics.org
[20:30:16] <Lcvette> ah man he did away with the non led version it was $129
[20:35:36] <Lcvette> still though $169 isn't bad for how well made he does them
[20:36:07] <Lcvette> ive had the econoprobe which isn't too bad but needs some work to make better and this unit blows it away
[20:36:19] <Lcvette> no brainer for the nominal price difference

[20:54:29] <Lcvette> but not sure how
[20:56:49] <JT[m]1> I'll have to look in the am
[21:08:41] <Lcvette> Lcvette: I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[21:10:55] <Lcvette> JT: ^^^
[21:11:33] <Lcvette> add that to line719 in the vtk_backplot.py file
[21:11:59] <Lcvette> then add GRID_LINES = False under the other vtk items in your ini

[21:27:06] <Lcvette> Eastern Seaboard under Severe weather warning... Hazzy "hmm, seems like a greta time to paint a car"
[21:27:08] <hazzy-m> at least there was no dust, which is normaly a problem
[21:27:39] <Lcvette> no dust just small animals and trees blowing around
[21:28:13] <Lcvette> not a spec of dust but ignore the elm tree on the rear quarter panel
[21:28:20] <Lcvette> lol
[21:28:21] <hazzy-m> hohohohh

[21:29:21] <Lcvette> would like to change it to blank.ngc
[21:29:24] <hazzy-m> it's kinda a hippie paint job, leaves and flowers embeded in the clear coat
[21:29:33] <Lcvette> HAHAHAHAHAHA

[21:35:13] <Lcvette> would like to change it to blank.ngc"
[21:35:36] <hazzy-m> in the INI
[21:35:53] <Lcvette> what do i change in the ini?
[21:35:56] <hazzy-m> change [DISPLAY] OPEN_FILE=path/to/gcode
[21:36:06] <hazzy-m> I think that is correct
[21:36:07] <hazzy-m> sek
[21:36:45] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[21:37:05] <Lcvette> ~o~
[21:38:37] <hazzy-m> yes, its [DISPLAY]OPEN_FILE
[21:38:52] <hazzy-m> you can also just set into to nothing I think
[21:39:18] <hazzy-m> [DISPLAY]OPEN_FILE = null
[21:39:20] <Lcvette> the above just has [DISPLAY]
[21:39:53] <hazzy-m> DISPLAY is the section, OPEN_FILE is the option, you need to add it
[21:40:16] * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >

[22:01:35] <Lcvette> hazzy
[22:02:08] <Lcvette> it seems maybe here its not properly updating the offset
[22:02:38] <Lcvette> but im not sure what the numbers in the brackets mean
[22:17:09] <Lcvette> hazzy: any thoughts?
[22:43:35] <hazzy-m> oh, that is because no program is loaded
[22:43:44] <hazzy-m> so there is no path actor
[22:44:00] <hazzy-m> I'll fix that later tonight
[22:44:08] <hazzy-m> should be easy

[22:52:36] <Lcvette> Lisa and I are going down Sunday for Easter with Mom and Dad
[22:53:40] <Lcvette> He got his biopsy results and they weren't what we hoped for
[22:56:48] <Lcvette> He has chronic COPD and now none small cell long cancer to go along with his leukemia, lymphoma and prostate cancer.
[22:58:32] <Lcvette> He had been managing the other cancers rather well, but with COPD, lung cancer often has complications and currently he has had two boys of pneumonia since September that required hospitalization
[22:58:43] <Lcvette> Bouts*
[22:59:16] <Lcvette> He's still recovering for the most recent which was when they discovered the mass in his lung
[23:20:44] <hazzy-m> oh no, that is not good! Sounds like he is a fighter, hope he can keep that up
[23:22:58] <hazzy-m> My aunt and uncle from florida, we're going to have a relativly quite easter this you, just them, my parents, and my intown brother and sisters

[23:37:06] <Lcvette> Yeah he is optimistic and keeps from seeing any worry, but this time I can tell he's worried
[23:37:45] <Lcvette> He's already been having allot of trouble with breathing even with oxygen full time now
[23:38:50] <Lcvette> He goes at the end of the month for evaluation to see if he is even a candidate for surgery or of the COPD is to much of an issue
[23:44:54] <Lcvette> So we are all a little anxious lately
