[00:39:12] <TurBoss> isChecked()
[00:39:39] <Lcvette> ah!
[00:39:42] <Lcvette> :D
[00:39:44] <Lcvette> ok testing
[00:41:32] <Lcvette> \o/
[00:41:36] <Lcvette> Thankyou!
[00:41:42] <TurBoss> 😇
[00:41:58] <Lcvette> i got pretty far on my own but couldn't figure that last part out
[00:42:08] <Lcvette> i had tried clicked()
[00:42:08] <TurBoss> just ask
[00:42:21] <Lcvette> i know but it was good learning
[00:42:21] <TurBoss> :P
[00:42:51] <TurBoss> you should be using pycharm for that
[00:45:46] * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2019-04-23_00-45-16.png (332KB) < https://matrix.org >
[00:45:50] <Lcvette> \o/
[00:45:54] <TurBoss> cool!
[00:45:55] <Lcvette> beautimus
[02:52:20] <Lcvette> you still awake turboss?
[02:52:32] <TurBoss> boo
[02:52:37] <Lcvette> lol
[02:53:23] <Lcvette> you know how the numbers move in the dro boxes?
[02:53:37] <Lcvette> would changingt hem to subscript stop that?
[02:53:53] <TurBoss> no idea
[02:53:58] <Lcvette> ok
[05:50:34] <JT[m]1> morning
[05:57:56] <TurBoss> hi
[05:59:54] <TurBoss> JT: I finished the notifications
[06:00:11] <jthornton> cool
[06:46:45] <hazzy-m> Morning
[06:54:37] <jthornton> morning
[06:56:47] <JT[m]1> I've been making parts with v6
[07:20:21] <hazzy-m> Nice!
[09:38:30] <Lcvette> morning
[09:39:22] <Lcvette> JT: did you see hazzy's way of tdoing the stacked widget connections?
[09:43:33] <JT-Shop> already used it lol
[09:44:23] <Lcvette> its good!!
[09:44:27] <Lcvette> i used it last night
[09:44:45] <JT-Shop> yea much better than the brute force method I figured out
[09:44:52] <Lcvette> lol
[09:44:57] <Lcvette> \little simpler
[09:46:51] <Lcvette> do you know about font stuff?
[09:47:31] <Lcvette> i was looking for a setting to make my dro numbers not move around when they are counting up or down
[09:47:56] <jthornton> yea
[09:48:38] <Lcvette> i was researching last night and saw kerning and then subscript and superscript
[09:48:57] <Lcvette> the kerning checkbox didn't do much
[09:51:37] <JT-Shop> what status are you using?
[09:52:59] * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2019-04-23_09-52-34.png (29KB) < https://matrix.org >
[09:53:12] <Lcvette> this?
[09:54:37] <JT-Shop> I'll look in a few, in the shop
[09:54:43] <Lcvette> ok
[09:54:55] <Lcvette> position:rel?string&axis=x
[09:59:01] <Lcvette> expression is: ch[0]
[09:59:32] <Lcvette> Channel is: position:rel?string&axis=x
[10:00:35] <JT-Shop> that has fixed places after the decimal, what do you mean by move around?
[10:01:20] <Lcvette> ah.. yeah, i was refering to the font spacing itself
[10:02:04] <JT-Shop> are you using a fixed width font?
[10:02:23] <Lcvette> dunno, but guessing not
[10:03:10] <Lcvette> from the sounds of that terminology
[10:03:49] <JT-Shop> most fancy fonts are not fixed width
[10:03:57] <Lcvette> :(
[10:17:25] <Lcvette> https://github.com
[10:17:28] <Lcvette> :O
[10:26:02] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: welcome to the wide, wide world of programming......
[10:29:02] <Lcvette> im trying to figure out how to install that monospacifier thing
[10:29:07] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: check this out. http://www.cncsnw.com
[10:29:40] <roguish[m]> i'm attempting to use tool length offsets with my bridgeport.
[10:30:49] <Lcvette> does the knee move?
[10:31:15] <roguish[m]> yes, the knee is the Z axis. I lock the quill in place
[10:31:39] <Lcvette> then should be no different then any other machine
[10:32:42] <Lcvette> that appears to be depiocting a master tool mode
[10:33:12] <roguish[m]> is that ok?
[10:33:48] <Lcvette> sure
[10:33:55] <Lcvette> i use it on my small machine
[10:34:16] <Lcvette> but I would keep an excel sheet with your preset tool measurements
[10:34:28] <roguish[m]> i would really like to do the same as on the Haas VF
[10:34:52] <Lcvette> if you ever change your master tool, you will need to be able to recalc your toolcrib
[10:35:02] <roguish[m]> which i guess is more conventional.
[10:35:13] <Lcvette> i like having a physical tool length as well as a offset from the master tool
[10:35:41] <Lcvette> then you can ALWAYS calc out either method
[10:35:57] <Lcvette> and use a probe
[10:36:03] <Lcvette> as the master tool
[10:39:00] <Lcvette> roguish: do you have a touch probe?
[10:39:26] <roguish[m]> yes. from Tormach. https://www.tormach.com
[10:39:48] <Lcvette> ok, use that as your master tool
[10:40:50] <roguish[m]> not sure if it can, or should, used for Z.
[10:41:09] <roguish[m]> gotta check. do not want to wreck it.
[10:41:24] <Lcvette> 100% can
[10:41:42] <Lcvette> man you lcnc guys are sooooo far behind the times on most things
[10:41:43] <Lcvette> lol
[10:41:52] <roguish[m]> already broke 1 stylus. doh.
[10:42:10] <Lcvette> that is why you want a physical tool length also
[10:42:51] <Lcvette> because when the probe is the master tool and its stylus changes you want to be able to quickly recalculate your master offsets by the new stylus length setting
[10:42:52] <Lcvette> lol
[10:43:08] <Lcvette> having those physical tool lengths for your normal tools allows that easy
[10:43:43] <Lcvette> that is just a simple tripod probe, they are perfectly fine for z probing
[10:44:05] <Lcvette> so long as your connections and probing routine is sound
[10:44:56] <roguish[m]> don't have my own routines, I use ProbeScreen. works pretty good.
[10:45:06] <Lcvette> should be good then
[10:45:28] <roguish[m]> https://github.com
[10:45:38] <Lcvette> yup, familiar with it
[10:46:21] <Lcvette> i prefer the more all in one routines
[10:46:35] <roguish[m]> https://vers.by
[10:47:37] <roguish[m]> what do you mean by all-in-one
[10:48:26] <Lcvette> sec
[10:49:22] * roguish[m] uploaded an image: image.png (393KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:51:56] * Lcvette posted a file: probing_page.mkv (2009KB) < https://matrix.org >
[10:53:15] <Lcvette> roguish: ^^
[10:54:00] <Lcvette> just need to ball park the probe over a corner and hit one button and it does everything for you and records your new work offset
[10:55:19] <roguish[m]> ok. ProbeScreen does that. that's how I use it. so far good. no damage....
[10:58:58] <Lcvette> nice!
[10:59:03] <Lcvette> looks like he has updated these
[10:59:25] <Lcvette> the ones i saw last year this time were not the same they were very basic
[11:21:39] * JT-Shop has never needed to probe the XY location of the material...
[11:33:27] <Lcvette> JT-Shop: thats because you ae magic
[11:33:32] <Lcvette> :D
[11:45:34] <JT-Shop> lol no, I just use a different method than you
[11:46:36] <Lcvette> i know
[11:46:47] <Lcvette> i used to do it the same way as you
[11:47:40] <Lcvette> nothing wrong with that way it works
[15:20:56] -!- Roguish has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
[15:39:25] -!- Roguish has joined #hazzy
[15:44:41] <Lcvette> 5 probe routines down, 4 to go on the first page but they are the smaller ones so should go faster
[15:59:29] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: what style probe stylus do you use? stem material? ball material?
[15:59:51] <Lcvette> depends what i am probing
[16:00:14] <Lcvette> i have many
[16:00:19] <Lcvette> in many lengths and sizes too
[16:00:37] <roguish[m]> for general purpose?
[16:00:37] <Lcvette> ruby are great, but pricy
[16:01:08] <Lcvette> for rough probing stock edge finding etc i use turned and hardened metal tips
[16:02:35] <Lcvette> if i am locating holes that need really high precision i use very short step small diam ruby tips
[16:03:14] <Lcvette> stem*
[16:04:04] <Lcvette> for softer material i use larger diam tip and lighter springs
[16:20:09] <Lcvette> roguish: you need another probe tip?
[16:20:39] <Lcvette> i would find a place that has the right threads for yours and get some cheapies
[17:34:09] <Lcvette> Page 1 complete, 9 probe subroutines done!
[17:34:12] <Lcvette> \o/
[18:33:46] <TurBoss> \o/
[18:34:17] <hazzy-m> o/
[18:37:13] <TurBoss> hazzy: I figured a way to create c++ libs and call them from python
[18:37:16] <TurBoss> with cffi
[18:37:54] <TurBoss> https://gist.github.com chack this
[18:50:10] <TurBoss> I'm trying to find the ShowDialog error
[18:51:21] * TurBoss uploaded an image: image.png (117KB) < https://matrix.org >
[18:51:34] * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[18:55:43] <hazzy-m> TurBoss: it is because the widget is passed as the first arg instead of the dialog name
[18:55:51] <hazzy-m> a lambda should fix it
[18:56:27] <TurBoss> i dont know how to
[18:56:43] <hazzy-m> whoa! sweet about the c++ libs
[18:56:57] <TurBoss> yes just implememnted on the line solver
[18:57:00] <hazzy-m> ok, i'll try to look at it tonight
[18:57:05] <TurBoss> nice
[18:57:19] <TurBoss> @hazzy maybe we can have a load file in c++
[19:00:17] * JT[m]1 uploaded an image: VectorImage_2019-04-23_060009.jpg (42KB) < https://matrix.org >
[19:00:57] <JT[m]1> That's what happens when you have a service manual lol
[19:02:00] <TurBoss> lol
[19:02:07] <TurBoss> a bmw?
[19:03:22] <JT[m]1> Was fixing the reverse button on the right handgrip and the service manual said take all the center off
[19:03:37] <JT[m]1> Goldwing
[19:03:43] <TurBoss> OH!
[19:03:45] <TurBoss> nice
[19:05:53] <JT[m]1> Only needed to take 4 screws out
[19:19:19] <roguish[m]> Lcvette: where can I find cheap stylii?
[19:22:15] <JT[m]1> Quit breaking them
[19:31:25] <roguish[m]> tell me about it.....
[19:42:37] <JT[m]1> I'm thinking about getting that probe Lcvette has
[19:42:50] <roguish[m]> which is that?
[19:43:31] <JT[m]1> Hmm I have the link downstairs
[19:43:55] <roguish[m]> check these, by Verser (Probescreen) https://vers.by
[19:44:17] <JT[m]1> https://drewtronics.org
[19:44:46] <roguish[m]> that looks nice...
[20:11:25] <Lcvette> JT, I think you would warm up to it
[20:11:42] <Lcvette> then i think you fall in love with it
[20:11:54] <Lcvette> then i think you will go tool holder crazy like i did..lol
[20:12:22] <Lcvette> it really makes prototype work or quick one off jobs much simpler when you don't have to fuss with ANY tool measuring or setup
[20:12:59] <Lcvette> just worry about cutting a chunk of stock that fits your needs to fit the table/vise, probe and go!
[20:13:36] <Lcvette> hazzy: o/
[20:13:49] <Lcvette> TurBoss: \o/
[20:15:02] <Lcvette> turboss i see you joined my probe branch!
[20:15:03] <TurBoss> hi @lc
[20:15:07] <Lcvette> :D
[20:15:18] <TurBoss> yup
[20:15:43] <Lcvette> is working ok for you?
[20:15:52] <TurBoss> havent tryed
[20:15:58] <Lcvette> ah ok
[20:21:07] <TurBoss> ok just launched
[20:21:12] <TurBoss> what I should test
[20:21:49] <Lcvette> all the probe buttons on the "OUTSIDE CORNERS" are good to go
[20:22:03] <Lcvette> outside corners page
[20:22:07] <Lcvette> all 9 buttons work
[20:22:32] <Lcvette> the center horizontal 3 on the inside corners page work
[20:22:49] <Lcvette> im working on the rest for that page now
[20:22:52] <Lcvette> :D

[20:30:24] <TurBoss> ah
[20:30:24] <TurBoss> ok
[20:30:28] <TurBoss> is another tab
[20:31:11] <TurBoss> cool
[20:31:40] <Lcvette> yeah but i have not yet done that routine yet

[20:32:34] <Lcvette> its getting close!!!!!
[20:32:49] <TurBoss> nicce!
[20:32:51] <Lcvette> I will have the probing pages all done hopefully the next day or two
[20:33:06] <TurBoss> if I can help
[20:33:14] <Lcvette> then tidy up any little things and time to test on the machine i think!
[20:33:44] <Lcvette> hmm.. oh i tried master!
[20:33:54] <Lcvette> but it yelled at me alot
[20:33:55] <Lcvette> lol
[20:35:15] <TurBoss> probebasic.ui is a monster
[20:35:16] <TurBoss> lol
[20:35:37] <Lcvette> :(
[20:35:42] <TurBoss> i mean big
[20:35:43] <TurBoss> :P
[20:35:54] <Lcvette> its because i worked on it for a long time
[20:36:15] <Lcvette> it still needs a settings and status page
[20:36:22] <Lcvette> but i have no idea what to do there
[20:36:29] <Lcvette> any ideas?
[20:36:32] <Lcvette> what to put?
[20:36:33] <TurBoss> status?
[20:36:50] <Lcvette> yeah,
[20:36:56] <Lcvette> is that not a thing?
[20:37:01] <Lcvette> in linuxcnc?

[20:43:35] <Lcvette> its glorious
[20:44:29] <TurBoss> Lcvette: PRG BDRY ibutton is reversed
[20:44:59] <Lcvette> did you change it in the ini?
[20:45:11] <TurBoss> no
[20:45:14] <Lcvette> hmmm
[20:45:25] <Lcvette> i think i remember that happening once before too
[20:45:51] <Lcvette> not sure how to fix
[20:46:00] <Lcvette> change them to toggle
[20:46:11] <TurBoss> I'm checking
[20:46:18] <TurBoss> but could be a mess
[20:46:37] <Lcvette> yeah, i think it needs a connection somewhere
[21:07:10] -!- Roguish has quit [Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.92-rdmsoft [XULRunner 35.0.1/20150122214805]]

[21:22:28] <Lcvette> Nubby
[22:19:27] <Lcvette> Pan
[22:21:00] <Lcvette> TurBoss: did we talk about a pan button for the vtk?
[22:22:01] <Lcvette> I forget
[22:35:34] <TurBoss> duno
[22:35:37] <TurBoss> whats that
[22:35:48] <TurBoss> zoom to part?
[22:40:34] <TurBoss> what can I do?
[22:40:52] <TurBoss> hazzy: some task?
[22:45:16] <TurBoss> I'm unable to apply qss to Qpushbutton bundled in widget
[23:06:37] <Lcvette> TurBoss: pan drags the screen around
[23:06:53] <TurBoss> doesn't work?
[23:06:57] <TurBoss> with mouse you can
[23:07:29] <Lcvette> With touch screen you can't
[23:07:50] <Lcvette> Need a button to activate pan
[23:08:09] <Lcvette> So you can recenter the view
[23:08:56] <Lcvette> Drag the focus point to the screen middle then zoom
[23:09:36] <Lcvette> With touch screen dragging rotates
[23:10:08] <Lcvette> No good way to manipulate currently
[23:10:12] <TurBoss> ok
[23:13:53] <TurBoss> if you hold shift it pans
[23:15:04] <TurBoss> afk
[23:19:00] <Lcvette> sorry was restroom
[23:19:10] <Lcvette> no shift on touchscreen
[23:19:11] <Lcvette> lol
[23:56:20] <TurBoss> Lcvette could you try vtk?
[23:57:15] <Lcvette> sure
[23:57:49] <TurBoss> I just created a branch from master
[23:58:20] <Lcvette> did you share it?
[23:58:30] <Lcvette> lcvette don't see it
[23:58:46] <Lcvette> there it is, just popped up
