[06:12:00] <Joco[m]> morning JT-Cave
[06:15:53] <JT-Cave> how's it going down under?
[06:16:12] <Joco[m]> chilling - watching LOTR 3
[06:16:28] <Joco[m]> nearly at the big battle scenes
[06:17:11] <Joco[m]> been asking some questions on lcnc forum about the 7i76 enc mode. Can't seem to change the param from x1 to x4
[06:17:52] <Joco[m]> the is pin is marked RO. PCW said that shoudln't be the case
[06:18:01] <Joco[m]> wonder if I have old firmware
[06:18:23] <JT-Cave> he is the man behind the 7i76 for sure
[06:18:56] <Joco[m]> he said he was going to have a look. Not heard back yet.
[06:24:03] <Joco[m]> JT-Cave: do you know if I can drive a 7i89 off a 7i76e? Or is that not a supported combo?
[06:27:11] <JT-Cave> I don't see a firmware for that but I've not downloaded firmware for the 7i76e in a long time
[06:27:47] <Joco[m]> just pulled it down. having a look
[06:28:17] <Joco[m]> 7i85 and 7i85s
[06:30:11] <Joco[m]> looks like there is a 5i25/7i76/7i89 bit
[06:35:04] <hazzy-m> morning

[09:33:20] <Lcvette> morning
[09:40:10] <Lcvette> > hands: I got around to running that faster travel test. But first I found some stress in the mechanical system and did a little bit of tweaking/improving on that. Then rebuilt the screw compensation file. So ..... First a test is 256 samples from 480mm to 0mm and then another 256 samples at the same commanded position but in reverse from 0mm to 480mm. Graphs are of error from commanded to measured per glass scales.
[09:40:10] <Lcvette> > Test 1 - travel = 150mm/min
[09:40:10] <Lcvette> looks fantastic Joco! great job! now how about some cut tests results
[09:40:18] <Lcvette> :D

[14:20:13] * Joco[m] sent a long message: < https://matrix.org >
[14:21:09] <Joco[m]> Also work this week is taking its toll not had any workshop time.
[14:21:41] <Joco[m]> * Also work this week is taking its toll not had any workshop time. Well too knackered to.
[14:39:33] <hands[m]> @joco tell me about it... This week is a golive on releasing a complete re-build of our companies CRM.. Been about a year in work and planning so its cray cay around here...
[14:39:45] <hands[m]> @joco tell me about it... This week is a golive on releasing a complete re-build of our companies CRM.. Been about a year in work and planning so its crazy around here...
[15:47:05] <Joco[m]> hands: yeah know what those are like. Had a big go-live a couple of years ago for one of my gigs.the cutover process and data migration was so complicated it took us a about 10 days of processing 24hrs/day. We had teams running in shifts. But given it impacted every company no matter what the size (single person up to multinationals) in the counbtry the level of care needed was pretty high. And the political fall out if it
[15:47:05] <Joco[m]> went wrong *shudder*.
[15:47:07] <Joco[m]> So best of luck!!!
[15:51:08] <hands[m]> Props to you for living to tell the tale! This is just 1 company so it will only be a few days of export, transformation and import.. and we completed a dry run last week... Mostly just dealing with last minute feedback and client nerves..
[15:58:02] <Joco[m]> lol - clienrt nerves. Yup totally get that. Any go live is a bit nerve wracking. Great to hear you have a dry run done. We did that approach as well. Had to. Helps build the confidence a lot.

[19:22:06] <hazzy-m> ha, we are switching to our new CRM system this week as well. Been a pain getting everybody trained up on it, but we are a small company so its not been too bad
[19:47:25] <Joco[m]> if one wanted to start learning how to roll mesa bit files. Where would you start to look to read/learn?
[19:48:59] <TurBoss> you may need the fpga vendors IDE and the bit files
[19:50:02] <TurBoss> just started with tinyfpga, thinking aboug buy one
[19:50:02] <TurBoss> it can be programed with lattice-diamond and just managed to setup all de environ
[19:50:02] <TurBoss> now I'm doinf the blink example
[19:51:14] <Joco[m]> ok. so probably following content/links on here and seeing where it goes. https://github.com
[19:51:26] <TurBoss> you may need to register on the xiling site
[19:51:57] <TurBoss> maybe there is a new IDE version and all changed
[19:51:58] <TurBoss> lol
[19:59:30] * TurBoss uploaded an image: Captura de pantalla de 2020-07-16 01-59-04.png (18KB) < https://matrix.org >
[19:59:39] <TurBoss> just the default example
[21:30:27] <Joco[m]> Yeah looking. Seems to be some kind of registration needed. Will look into it more after work.
[21:51:16] <hands[m]> @Joco, yes you do need to register to get the Webpack license (the free version)
[21:51:53] <hands[m]> I haven't tried any of the fancy new IDEs I stick to 14.7 which I think is close to the version that linuxCNC references in their docs
[21:52:53] <Joco[m]> Yeah. My plan was to basically get the version called out in the lcnc docs.
