[20:17:39] <agile_prg> altendky are you here?
[20:26:31] <altendky> agile_prg: sort of
[20:29:35] <agile_prg> sweet, what is the way you get a temporary linux server?
[20:31:25] <altendky> agile_prg: for what use?
[20:32:28] <agile_prg> well I need to exeucte a go program: https://github.com
[20:41:07] <altendky> agile_prg: so, a VM?
[20:44:30] <altendky> agile_prg: or maybe wsl
[20:45:15] <agile_prg> what I can login, install golang, download that package and run it
[20:45:19] <altendky> agile_prg: or follow their windows instructions
[21:03:31] -!- mandeep_ has joined #pyqt
[21:03:43] <agile_prg> when you build your python app, you use a platform to do it on, what was that?
[21:05:38] <altendky> agile_prg: AppVeyor. They do Linux as well now
[21:06:01] <agile_prg> can I spin up a linux instance login and do this you think?
[21:06:32] <altendky> agile_prg: why not a VM or walk?
[21:06:35] <altendky> Wsl
[21:07:36] -!- mandeep has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]
[21:10:21] <agile_prg> a virtual machine locally?
[21:10:26] <agile_prg> not sure what a wsl is
[21:11:10] <altendky> agile_prg: yes, a virtual machine you run. Windows subsystem for Linux
[21:11:46] <agile_prg> ya, this laptop has such low resources I don't think it will work
[21:12:19] <altendky> agile_prg: why not run it in windows?
[21:13:57] <agile_prg> I don't have windows on this laptop
[21:14:07] <agile_prg> I have an old version of ubuntu, 15.10
[21:14:58] <altendky> agile_prg: ok I really don't understand the problem. Why don't you run the program you want to run?
[21:15:29] <agile_prg> my apt-get is broken, I cannot fix it without upgrading my entire laptop which I cannot do right now, so I am looking for a remote solution
[21:16:00] <agile_prg> anyway I will just check out appveyer
[21:16:11] <altendky> agile_prg: so search for virtual hosting solutions. I'm sure there are many
[21:16:22] <agile_prg> ok
[21:16:28] <altendky> agile_prg: AppVeyor is a build service
[21:16:33] <agile_prg> thanks, just wanted to see if you recommend one above another
[21:16:45] <agile_prg> I thought AppVeyor was a virtual hosting solution
[21:17:10] <altendky> agile_prg: no, it's a build service i use for builds
[21:17:54] <agile_prg> ok, I thought you said it spun up a linux machine it built on
[21:18:12] <altendky> agile_prg: you could just boot a new Linux cd
[21:18:39] <altendky> agile_prg: build services run stuff sure, but they are build services
[21:18:54] <agile_prg> ya, that could be an option, I think I will jsut spin up an aws instance
[21:25:29] <agile_prg> thanks for your help
