[08:18:59] <librebob[m]> is there a way to keep strings in a resource collection file (qrc)?
[08:19:19] <librebob[m]> similar to how a typical android app maintains a strings.xml
[08:19:27] <librebob[m]> where you can put all your strings then call them by their id in the app

[09:28:49] <altendky> librebob[m]: linguist is the qt too for editing translations. I would expect that would lead to the answer. Not sure where pyqt puts it but in code you end up with tr() calls iirc.

[19:55:41] <librebob[m]> yeah unfortunately pylupdate5 can only parse the python files
[19:55:50] <librebob[m]> and lupdate can only parse C++ and QML files
[19:56:02] <librebob[m]> so for pyqt development you need to do it either all in the QML or all in the python
[19:58:19] <altendky> librebob[m]: that doesn't immediately sound like the first step in the pyqt i18n instructions. did you read this? http://pyqt.sourceforge.net
[19:58:43] <altendky> i'm reading the rest now myself
[20:02:07] <altendky> but sure, that page doesn't reference qml so perhaps it hasn't been setup for use with qml. you could ask on the list for clarification.
[20:05:39] <librebob[m]> I read it on the pyqt mailing lists
[20:05:51] <librebob[m]> that you need to use lupdate for QML
[20:06:03] <librebob[m]> and trying it myself it also proved true
[20:06:18] <librebob[m]> It'd be nice if pylupdate would support QML some day but i can live without it for now
[20:06:21] <librebob[m]> even if it complicates things
