[18:34:32] <KnightMustard[m]> Hello, I'm using pyuic5 and I keep getting Unknown Qt widget: Phonon.VideoPlayer. Seems like I'm missing a dependency? I have phonon-qt5-gstreamer so I'm not sure what else I would be missing?
[18:37:35] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: are you trying to use that widget? Are you working in a virtualenv or venv?
[18:43:43] <KnightMustard[m]> altendky: Yeah, I'm using venv but I have also tried my system package manager. I'm new to the game, so I'm guessing it's something I'm overlooking
[18:45:03] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: are you trying to use that widget? If you are in an env you won't have access to the system stuff
[18:48:18] <KnightMustard[m]> altendky: Yes, I'm trying to. I did try using the system packages outside the env
[18:50:32] <KnightMustard[m]> I'm using pyuic5 -x myUI.ui -o test.py and I'm getting Unknown Qt widget: Phonon.VideoPlayer
[18:50:40] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: does qt still have that?
[18:50:59] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: can you not use a 'normal' movie player?
[18:51:31] <KnightMustard[m]> altendky:
[18:51:33] <KnightMustard[m]> woops
[18:51:47] <KnightMustard[m]> I just need a widget with no controls that can loop a video
[18:53:32] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: I'd start here http://doc.qt.io
[18:54:54] * hazzy-m uploaded a video: Peek 2018-12-15 18-54.mp4 (872KB) < https://matrix.org >
[18:55:55] <KnightMustard[m]> Thanks. Seems like it wasn't actually in qt 5 afterall
[19:01:35] <altendky> KnightMustard[m]: not that this is necessarily best, and the example is entirely about other things, but https://gist.github.com
[19:06:23] <KnightMustard[m]> Thanks!

[20:03:41] <hazzy-m> altendky: can you remind me were your code that make it possible to use a qsignal without havening to create a qobject is?
[20:05:33] <altendky> hazzy-m: https://github.com
[20:06:18] <hazzy-m> thank you very much! Time to bookmark ..
[20:09:20] <altendky> hazzy-m: time for me to get in great and move to New organized packages that other people could actually reasonably use
[20:09:26] <altendky> Get in gear
[20:11:24] <hazzy-m> that would be awesome!
