[12:13:07] <Thaodan> how hard would it be to use cmake instead of cmake?
[12:13:33] <Thaodan> for pyqtdeploy
[12:14:12] <Thaodan> cmake has better automatic build features and would be easier customizable.
[12:15:17] <Thaodan> also the xml based for format of pyqtdeploy isn't very good to track in version control

[14:17:00] <altendky> Thaodan: i can't find it but i thought at some point i submitted a patch to the maillist to pretty print the xml :|
[14:17:21] <Thaodan> that'd be grea
[14:17:23] <Thaodan> t
[14:17:30] <Thaodan> its hell to diff it
[14:17:41] <Thaodan> sysroot.json looks much better
[14:18:24] <Thaodan> I bet using pip + cmake would be better.
[14:18:25] <altendky> luckily i got to drop pyqtdeploy when the wheels came out
[14:19:03] <Thaodan> kde has some great extra modules for cmake to deploy easier to android
[14:19:03] <altendky> but pyqtdeploy just creates a qt project. so if you want alternate tooling you can just look at what people do with qt other than standard tools
[14:19:21] <Thaodan> that is to recreated every time.
[14:20:09] <Thaodan> pyqtdeploy could freeze the wheel + deps build with cmake
[14:20:40] <Thaodan> I didn't get why it cant detect deps by itself
[14:20:54] <altendky> if you just use the wheel then pyinstaller, other than the crossbuild aspect
[14:22:42] <Thaodan> i
[14:22:59] <Thaodan> I need the bundling
[14:23:24] <Thaodan> for Android support and the Qt integration is a good perk.
[14:24:39] <Thaodan> on the desktop all deps are build separate either with setup tools or cmake/qmake
