[06:52:29] <gour> morning
[06:53:09] <gour> i plan to work on open-source desktop app. what would be some pro/cons in regard to pyqt vs pyside? (i'm on fedora linux)
[07:00:21] <The-Compiler> gour: no big difference - the main difference between them is the license and who's writing it
[07:01:05] <The-Compiler> gour: PyQt is mostly a one-man show, PySide is more community-focused (but rather new, though slowly catching up to PyQt now)
[07:01:30] <The-Compiler> but you basically could adjust some imports to switch from one to another, most likely
[07:01:38] <gour> The-Compiler: is it easy to switch?
[07:01:44] <gour> ahh, ok

[21:52:50] <altendky> so i've got a lovely hang in pytest-twisted tests with qt5reactor and pyqt5. but only on windows with 5.15.0. pyside2 5.15.0 on windows is fine. pyqt5 5.14.2 is fine everywhere. pyqt5 5.15.0 is fine on linux and macos. so i want to check the history to help isolate the trigger... but we really have to guess the time of 'release' each day? the 1514 from

[22:45:36] <altendky> also there was some change to the qpplication exit or somesuch... and phil sent out a warning ahead asking people to test it and make sure they didn't have trouble... and i can't remember quite when that was sent or in what context. i browsed all the maillist subjects this year and nothing jumped out at me.
